Good for him.

Always grateful for what he gave us in his time here.

Having said that, similar to Cade, don't shit all over us on the way out and expect us to be a lifelong fan. Thanks for the memories now go on and continue being an asshole

If this is the thing people are grumpy about, easy enough to pull the quote back up.

"I feel like at Michigan, they weren’t as nice. They were nice people but not as nice," Dickinson said. "I feel like Michigan is like a fake Midwest. Kansas is actually like a Midwest town. I loved my time in Michigan, but the people here at Kansas are especially nice.”

Link.

I find that people who make big sweeping statements are pretty much setting themselves up for failure. Hunter seems to have a lot of opinions on things. I preferred his basketball to his opinions personally. Neither are above criticism. Both aren't much worth my time anymore.

Should just listen to Harbaugh ....

"I hate to compare things, I really do," Harbaugh said. "Whenever you compare things, whether it be one player to another or this team to last year's team, somebody gets diminished. I like to avoid it. Just so you know, that's how I feel about it."

All that says is that we failed him in his media training.  Kids say stupid stuff.  (I say stupid stuff.)  Celebrate the good stuff.  Listen to a Michael Jackson song.  Be proud of the founding fathers.  Life is to short to begrudge everyone everything.

There was an article in the Washington Post about Teddy Roosevelt's liable court trial.  He called William Barnes Jr. as “a political boss of the most obnoxious type.”   Asked why he still worked with Barnes, Roosevelt said,  “I met and found most had a double character — a Dr. Jekyll and a Mr. Hyde,” he said. “Few were wholly evil. My constant effort was to appeal to the side that was decent and get them to act rightly.”

Dickenson has a mostly good side and he used most of that mostly good side for Michigan.

Who were they playing, if you don't mind my asking? Those three pointers stand out, and I'm not one of those people who hates the young man's guts, but if it was the Lawrence Evangelical Baby Seals, I'll take that into account.

I am sure Hunter has a lot of points in him this season.  However, NC Central has a 4 Guard/1 Forward starting 5.  Hunter probably had 5/6 inches on their starting Forward.  This is the type of early season game that can be a huge mismatch on the court.  Kansas won by about 40.

IMO, probably didn't need to post this info.

I wouldn't take it personally. I think some of the pushback here is potentially anticipating this as the first of 30 similar Hunterwatch updates (not by you persay but just generally on the board). He's a Jayhawk now, hopefully he feels the warm embrace that apparently he didn't feel here (based on the underlying tone of most of his post transfer comments). But also hopefully we won't have to have too many more Hunter-specific conversations.

I don’t know.  He wasn’t as irritating back then.  But he acted like an ass on his pod, the big balls thing was dumb as hell, and the ski mask thing before getting shut down was the final straw.  All in all, he just isn’t a very likeable dude and I’m pleased I get to watch a Michigan team without him this year.

A couple of other stat lines for guys from last year's team.

Isaiah Barnes (Tulsa) - 11 points on 4-8 shooting with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and one turnover

Gregg Glenn (Tulane) - 0 points on 0-1 shooting with 1 rebound, 0 assists, and 0 turnoves

He's a good player, so wish him luck.

We'll see how this team looks tonight but this version of UM seems more the type you'd maybe want to play with if you were Dickinson than the last couple with a bunch of mediocre freshmen.

“Hope is the thing with feathers, That perches in the soul ..."  Now that's a really nice start.

Unless that's not the Dickinson you meant.

Very true. We will have some tough ones this season, but I am much more excited seeing program guys like Dug and Reed grow than 5* freshman who either: can’t shoot and have poor handles (Houstan) show as much interest in defense as a blind man when he hears there is a rainbow (Jett), or can’t catch and are a black hole with the ball (Diabate).

We will need upper talent to be top level competitive again for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this team wins some games we don’t expect this season.

Said it when he left he went to the best possible place for his position and chance of winning. Bill Self is second to no one when it comes to getting big man to play their absolute best ball.

With the above said I hope we don't get an update on him every night.
