how can they watch Patriot Games and determine that Sean Miller is innocent?

That’s a weak a$$ punishment

gutless NCAA
NW Arizona Community College for the Blind is gonna pay big time for this.

Eastside, one of the best lines, from a great film.. If I may…. “Your winnings, Sir.”

Amazinblu, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I believe the following link captures the scene.
"Make it ten, I'm only a poor corrupt official".

Eastside, Casablanca was one of my mom's favorite movies - and, I can't count the number of times I've seen it. It's a favorite of mine too...
“Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine…”

NCAA moving their headquarters to West Virginia because they're toothless...

Laughable

One assistant is banned for ten years, another for two years, loss of a scholarship for the incoming recruiting class, and self-imposed 2020-21 and 2021-22 post-season ban
So there are employees at the NCAA who were paid for five years to do this?
December 14th, 2022 at 2:01 PM ^
So Sean Miller did *nothing* wrong? B1G slaps Michigan with a reprimand for a fan touching Mel's head and Sean Miller gets no punishment?
NCAA, just go away already.

It's time to hang the missing banners in the rafters at Crisler.
December 14th, 2022 at 3:50 PM ^
We should hang them in the tunnel.

In Soviet Russia (or RCMB lore), tunnel hang YOU!

It's going to be glorious when the NCAA is extinct in a few years.

Bill Self gets suspended by the NCAA for the first four games this year and they won the national championship last season.
Arizona’s penalty is a parallel joke.
Punish the small and ignore the blue bloods.
December 14th, 2022 at 3:20 PM ^
That's not going to make anything *better* though.
December 14th, 2022 at 2:23 PM ^
Has Emmert and the NCAA actually done anything constructive in the last decade?
I can think of nothing… absolutely nothing.
December 14th, 2022 at 2:52 PM ^
They've made money off of the NCAA tournament. If you're into that, I suppose that's constructive. That literally is thee reason they exist at this point, right?
December 14th, 2022 at 2:59 PM ^
B - I believe the word "enforcement" had been part of the NCAA's charter - but, I believe you are (almost) correct.
Making money off the NCAA (basketball) tournament seems to be their purpose. And, they also conduct other championships during the year.

This is a good result for the direction of the NCAA and it's partner universities. It proves that programs are not 'cheating' because they fear the repercussions.
------ NCAA spokesperson, probably

Two of Miller's assistants were directly involved in this. That is way more serious than what got Fisher fired by UM in 1997. Zona fired him because his last few teams underachieved.
I'm still ticked how Fisher got fired by Goss when the NCAA later didn't issue a show cause for him but only admonished him for letting Martin around the program (even though that wasn't illegal in itself by NCAA rules). They found no proof Fisher even knew about Martin's numbers racket and cash funneling. No UM assistants were involved - and we got "treated" to three years of Ellerbe HORROR.
The NCAA has become toothless because it has lost some big time cases in court, including NIL. Miller clearly needed some kind of suspension (and losing the cash from his salary). But - the tunnel and what about Juwan?

i couldn't believe it when i saw the athletic article. then again, yes i can.

Miller's shirts certainly got punished by the human sweat factory...
