MSU Football X (a.k.a. Twitter) put out a little video that people believe teases that MSU will wear alternate uniforms on Saturday.

The alternate uniform is called "Shadows" which was revealed before the season.

EVERYONE'S joke that you're stealing.  but that's okay, sometimes the cliche joke is there for a reason!

and okay, i'll ask - what does "THY shadows" mean?  did they misspell "thigh?"  that's a lame joke, but i mean it - what's "thy?"  did someone in the msu classics department (lol) toss that in there as some sort of "look at our neato old-timey language" thing?

MSU has taken a weird approach these past two years. They have gone with the "different uniform each week" method, and that really has been reserved for schools without a distinguishable identity. It pains me to admit, but MSU with their traditional green and white and spartan head has been a pretty clean and recognizable look. The helmet they wore in 2021 with just the outline of the Spartan I thought looked pretty sharp.

Now they've gone off the deep end with still incorporating the neon, having the script state (which I must admit is a great basketball jersey, but looks small and compacted on the helmet) the "block S" gruff Sparty, and now this...grey look?

They change their helmet pretty much weekly. They've done script, gruff, block S, traditional white and traditional green.

It is different when you have a set for example I don't see much of a difference when MSU would wear white or green pants at home. But wearing a completely different color outside of their school colors and utilizing logos that have been out of circulation for 2 decades is a bit of an odd choice

Black is great camouflage with the shadows of night when you're down 45-7 and rather just not be seen for the embarrassment you are.

"When twilight silence falls"

Yes, your stadium will be quite quiet around that time thanks to the droves of fans that will leave when it's obvious the on-field beating Michigan is handing out will not end until the clock hits zero.

I do not understand why MSU so often tries to get away from their own school colors.  It's a home game, Sparty, and green is a perfectly good color.  Why not take pride in what you have?
