Michigan Women's Basketball Appreciation Thread

What a great effort!

Tough exciting game by our team today after last weekend beating #3 Tennessee and today getting a shot at knocking off another kingpin.

Sure, victory would have been sweeter, but after watching these Michigan gals step up at NCAA Tournament time and take a perennial college hoops powerhouse to the final shot of overtime, how about a great big MICHIGAN show of appreciation!

I'm very happy for their success this year, but they coulda/shoulda won today. So that is a little disappointing.  Next season could be a great year too.

Went toe to toe with Baylor in a game most thought they would’ve got blown out in. Much respect to all the ladies and KBA! They only have to replace Hailey Brown and AK Johnson next season.

What a game for the women, giving Baylor everything they could handle. KBA had an excellent game plan. I love watching this team, and I’ll be watching next year.

Wonderful to see the women's basketball program achieve what they have this season.  Their hard work has paid off.  They can hold their heads high that they can now compete with the best in college basketball.  Well done, ladies!  Go Blue!

Coach Kim has built a solid program that is poised to go from very good to great this fall with her best recruiting class ever joining an outstanding nucleus of returnees. I encourage all who live locally to get season tickets. They are only $60 each for lower bowl seats!

Someone said this in the game thread and I agree with it completely: The feeling after today’s game is exactly like the feeling after Michigan lost to 1-seed Duke in 2011. To get where they got is a huge accomplishment and they should feel proud of what they did; at the same time, to have a chance at a ginormous step forward for the program and just barely come up short leaves a somewhat-hallow feeling. The season feels unfinished.

Fantastic job by the ladies! There is a lot of heart and 'want-to' on this team. I don't know too much about the team, but I do know Amy Dilk, Danielle Rauch, Leigha Brown, Emily Kiser, and Naz will all be back as seniors next year. Next year looks like it has the makings of a very special year.

Great season Ladies!!

Thanks, it was a pleasure to watch, your all class.

An historically excellent season and no doubt more to come.

You should be proud.

Michigan WBB and Coach KBA showed they can compete with top teams in the nation.  Great game and terrific season, despite extraordinary challenge of playing key stretches without veteran point guard Amy Dilk and #2 scorer Leigha Brown, plus athletic department shutdown.  Congratulations!

With this level of talent as the baseline, our ladies are probably a player or two from being a Sweet 16 regular and a potential Final 4 team.  Congratulations to these young ladies and give KBA a raise.

Not just appreciation. This team has officially arrived. They took a perennial power to OT and not by chance. They had a legit chance to win.

Kudos to KBA and the entire WBB TEAM. Helluva run. Helluva season. Helluva start to national relevance.
GO BLUE!!!

I loved watching the game.  I know nothing about WBB, but the ladies made me proud to be a Michigan Wolverine.  I expect I will watch more M WBB games next season.  Great team!

I’m sure they would’ve preferred the win, but there is such a thing as a moral victory.  For perspective, UConn (one of the other old powerhouses) blew out Iowa by 20. You’re not supposed to think you even have a chance.

Taking Baylor to OT means they can play with the best. Not soon, but today.
