Go Blue.

EDIT: I WAS OVERLY COMPLIMENTARY OF WISCONSIN BECAUSE YOU DO NOT TEMPT THE CBB GODS WHEN PLAYING AT THE TROLL CENTER. BEILEIN HAS WON HIS LAST 3 GAME AGAINST THE BADGERS.

For all of the caterwauling, the closest the game ever got was 7 points, and *that* took two consecutive 3-shot foul calls against Michigan. I will take a win in Madison under any circumstances. I don’t care what their record is. That place has been a house of horrors for this team. Michigan conceded 50 (!) second half points — while still playing at Wisconsin’s snail-like pace — and won by 11. I don’t care how much of the lead they lost in the second half; I’ll take it. Now, keep it up on Wednesday against Iowa. Go Blue!

Amen to that. Great win at a tough place for us to win! Nice job by MAAR and Poole ceiling the game at the line. I love the Robinson, Poole, MAAR all free throw backcourt for us... seems to be working just fine. If life gives you lemons at the free-throw line, make lemonade with a new lineup. Hats off to Coach B, and thumbs down to the whiny fans who found a way to complain about this game. Go blue!

Go Blue!!!

Good comeback, for all the up & down -- we still ended ahead.

Let's keep working on consistency & a dedication to excellence no matter what our opponent is doing.

In the meantime -- nice turn-around of a historical trend. We needed this.

Took care of some old business. Now,

Onwards!

We decided to take him one on one and not leave a bunch of open three point shots. Mo made a lot of nice stops and did a very good job on the defensive glass. Funny though, seeing post about his D makes it sound like we lost or something. There should be a separate thread for whiny fans only

Totally got attacked by a munchkin. And my wife is always up my ass about being on my phone on the weekends. 80% of the time it’s mgoblog. Or as my wife accuses me, texting my friends.

I think I was going to say wins in Madison in any sport are dear.

Not great, but not terrible. Subbing out Z for Poole really helped at the end. We'll probably see more of that going forward.

I felt that Robinson played pretty well in Livers' absence. We missed Livers' defense, but Robinson did his thing, drained some threes, and managed to get to the line. Not a bad outing from him by any means.

And the starters shot 79% from the line, with only Simpson missing more than 1.  And while I think Poole showed some positive signs at the point, he was also a bit reckless on defense and fouled on the 3 attempt late.  Simpson's main weakness is at the line, but he does bring enough to the team that the calls for him to be replaced by Poole seem a bit premature.

Duncan Robinson was a weapon today.  He also played passable defense.  He had to log big minutes in Livers absence, and he was very effective today.  Livers is important to this team playing at a higher level, so to win this game without him today was that much more impressive.

I am curious who will play those minutes in the next game.  It is constantly evolving, and neither one has been effective of late.  It was great to see Simmons make a 3, and he also increased his intensity on D.  That carry TO, though, was pretty bad.  I hope he can emerge and show some of his talent in these last few weeks.  He has a lot of talent, and he could prove important in the tournament to spell Simpson if things go well.

Simpson and Matthews' ability to make/miss free-throws is going to be a key factor into 'how far' this team can go in the tourney
