One good year for Howard and one bad. I don't think anyone is happy about this year but far too small of a sample size to make declarations about a coach.
Too early to tell. He took a lot of experienced Beilein guys and transfers and had a fantastic season last year. However I’m skeptical he can develop talent like Beilein could. It remains to be seen what a 3-4 year player under Howard looks like.
Man! This is what I get for going to work and turning the game off when we were up.
That epic collapse is at least 50% on Howard. Terrible substitution, as in no use of the bench when the starters looked like they had been drugged in the 2nd half. No TwiII. Bufkin? Why so little Frankie? Jones was off his game after halftime. Epic collapse.

The women's bball team also had a poor performance at the Big tourney. One and done for both.
Losing a 17pt lead with 11 minutes left is a very poor performance.
This game must have really impressed our incoming recruits and recruiting targets. “Nah, I think I’ll go play for (fill in the blank). But thanks for the nice hoodie and Jumpman socks”.

I last checked here around 1PM and it looked/felt like UM was up big and coasting! They lost? WTF???

This is what happens when you hire a first time coach. He has zero experience. He's basically learning on the job. He's never been in this position before, big lead in sort of a 'must win game. He didn't know what to do when his starting point guard was playing out of control with 11 mins left and a double digit lead. He's never been in this position. He thought he couldn't give him a breather at this juncture. He thought he has to play him. Next time he might realize there is no need to panic, it's ok to pull a starting point guard with 11 mins to go. Give him a breather and heck maybe Collins does well and can play even longer than a couple of minutes. But the fact our Head Coach decided with 11 mins to go he has to to ride or die with Jones and even Brooks is a coaching blunder. I really think it's his biggest coaching weakness where he has no confidence in his team. And it shows in his players, when your coach has no confidence in you .
Not to mention Collins is probably the only player on this team who can get a good look almost Everytime, unfortunately he doesn't always finish. But we couldn't even get a good look the final 11 mins of this game. We missed 15 of our final 17 field goal attempts.
Hope Coach learns from this, learns on the job
Agreed about needing to sit Jones, the broadcast even mentioned Jones had an injury of some kind at around the 11 min mark and you could see him grimacing a couple of times. I know Howard wants to go with a veteran in that situation if possible, but he did not look right physically or mentally after the 11 min mark.
It was one of those times we needed to freshen up our stale lineups. Martelli was wonderful at doing this. But for whatever reason Juwan doesn't stop the bleeding. Up 17 with 11 mins to go. He rode that stale group until he finally inserted Williams with under a minute to go.
Martelli had Bufkins and Williams in the game at OSU to close it out.
Juwan treats these starters like they are Bird,McHale,Pariah, Johnson and Ainge. SMH. 🤔
Well, he’s a bad coach who has a violent streak and multiple children with multiple women. Pretty sure this is as good as its gonna get
Jones in the second half played like he did most of the season. Turning it over, making poor decisions when to start the motion, passed that were ill timed. He choked when it counted.
How pathetic to lose and not have our coach assault or threaten to kill someone. Just sad.
HOPE we make the NCAA tourney. We do not deserve to make the field, IMO. Some think we do. Time will tell. All eligible players need to be back next season, HD is basically gone, good luck to him
