We look soft physically, like maybe the guys didn't work that hard in the off season on conditioning.

ASU is not a tourney team.  And although they did get hot, most of their shots weren't well contested at all.

Tough loss last night.  I think there are 3 things that this team has to get better at:

  1. We have to start games better.  For as long as I can remember, I feel like our BBall teams never have great starts to games or at least not very often.
  2. Every game has to start with getting Hunter Dickinson going as long as he is on our roster.  I am not sure if he touched the ball more than 5 times in the first 10 minutes of yesterdays game.  That cannot happen.  Hunter's game will open up everyone else's game purely because the mismatch he causes for most teams we play.
  3. We have to get better at defense.  Last night was I believe the exception, but I have seen enough from our offense already to be confident that we are going to put up some points this year.  We have several scorers on this team and several players that can attack the basket and hit from the outside.  If we can just get to an above average with our defense, this team can compete with anyone.

What has you confident about our offense? We have Hunter & Jett that’s a constant! Everybody else is hit or Miss so far this season. Baker has had 2 good games and 2 awful games. T-Will scored against EMU and that’s it. The backcourt has been very inefficient…and we haven’t even arrived to the hard part of our OOC schedule

I think the team will be in a better place once Juwan introduces T. Will to the bench and keeps him there until he learns that he's not Kobe. T Will should be a hustle player - D and rebounds - but he doesn't seem particularly interested in either. His decision making on offense is terrible and is a momentum killer. Maybe, with a focus on the grind, his offensive game will eventually become more consistent, but start with and stick with the effort plays for now.

Given Llewellan's (I know, I can't spell his name) less than stellar player, we're playing 3 on 5 when those two on are the court. I'm much rather see Dug and Jace take those spots as we'll at least see better effort and not as many terrible shots.

I really like T Will.   I think we can ride his hot streaks at key moments throughout the season.   But I might be leaning toward your assessment - it might be better for him to own an energy guy off of the bench mentality.

While this play had no meaningful impact on the outcome of yesterday's game, I was admittedly frustrated when T Will grabbed a defensive rebound in the 2nd half, looked directly at Dug McD who was waiting for the outlet pass further up the court to start the transition game, chose to ignore Dug with a "nah, fam, I got this" shrug, and proceeded on a 1 man fast break coast-to-coast in a very forgettable fashion.   That sucked.

TWill is not the problem. Hes a + player for Michigan the past 2 seasons. He giving you 8 points and 7 rebounds a game. Shooting 40% from the floor and 78% from the stripe. Solid defender. Hes a role player who can get hot. He plays within the framework of the team, he didn't start jacking up shots until we were down 20 yesterday.  He's not even close to the problem. He's actually 1 of our more consistent players.

You aren't alone in being a fan of his, but I don't see it. Free throws? He's a forward who hasn't gotten to the line in 3 of our 4 games. His rebound per minute rate is nearly the same as Dug's. You don't think he was jacking up shots until we were down 20? I don't buy it. Watch his eyes when he touches the ball; his focus is fixed on scoring, not making team plays. He's looking to shoot every time he touches the ball, no matter where he is on the court, no matter where his (open) teammates are.

He's not a + player. In fact he's a -3.2 so far this year. He has 0 blocks and 4 assists on the season. In about half the minutes, Joey Baker (an actual shooter) has 3 assists and 2 blocks. Can he become much better? I think so. I just believe he needs to focus on effort plays and let the offense come later.

Suuuuccckkkked. Guards need to improve immensely, free throw shooting needs to get to around 70%, 3 point shooting needs to get somewhere closer to Wednesday nights performance. Defense is butt. Burn the tape.

I will admit that I do like the new Freahman big man, Green. Looks like a very natural post player and will put in good minutes this year, and become a big go to player once Dickinson is gone

In basketball, you get an extra chance with the NCAA tournament, and Howard has done well there. However, that's a two game stretch. I'd rather have a good to great team every year, but I watch all the games either way. I love the tournament runs, but I don't think they are as indicative of a good team.

The defense is very soft, and it was last year. That concerns me. It doesn't seem to be a priority. We saw how big of a difference it made when Yaklich came in.

He was asked if his transfer was portrayed unfairly. “Yeah, I would say so. Sometimes they think they know the story, but they really don’t know what’s going. There’s a lot that happens, and you can’t really tell people. Not that anything bad happened. They just don’t know the full story.”

I just wanna know what the hell he is talking about.  Literally the media and blog comments all said why is he doing this, we don't understand, he was slotted in to be the starting point guard, and Lewellyn is a two guard to give a more experience player to mentor Kobe Bufkin.

Idk, guess I'm upset we lost and obviously Frankie Collins is a player we all wish was still here.
