The Michigan/OSU rivalry once had great respect. Competing in a similar manner. Making each other better. Accepting the accomplishments of each program.

Many years ago, OSU chose cheating instead of competing to win at all costs.  Once the ethics and morals were lost, it was easy to slip into hatred and disrespect for your rival instead of mutual acceptance.

OSU's program has gone the path of MSU.  They are now just another annoying little brother.

Except this annoying little brother tried to set big brother up to get in trouble. They even schemed with all their little friends and convinced Mom & Dad. Fortunately, Michigan will get their chance to kick this little brother's ass in the big house...with Mom, Dad, and all the little brother's friends watching.

I stopped reading at "findings of cheating"

1. NCAA has not released it's findings yet.

2. Big Ten doesn't have power/authority to investigate, so they cannot have "findings"

3. No sign of "cheating" has been formally alleged via NOA let alone "found".

I skimmed on a bit longer but it was all drivel.  I used to enjoy Michigan Monday but this was a big turd sandwich from a fan base who is scared.

I must have read it too fast and missed the sarcasm ?  Because it seemed like he was arguing against the Big Ten.

This conference has attempted to derail Michigan through no fault of their own and now the Wolverines have no choice but to rise up and become the conquering heroes that legend has foretold.

And then he says eventually wins will be vacated.  So I'm confused at his stance.

What he should have said is that Harbaugh must be on sideline for The Game.

I'm going against the tide here by saying that I didn't like Ohio vs the World and I'm not crazy about Michigan vs. Everybody for this reason: no one likes a self-appointed victim. We all laughed when Ohio State did it because they essentially have the world on a string, and the Big Ten in their pockets. Well, we have an embarrassment of riches, too. We have a great football team without the signs and a great coach. We love and have pride in our university, and leadership that supports us. Whose got it better than us? Nobody. So let other people call out the unfairness. Klatt and others have done that. Let them carry that water for us.

Nope.

Historically I have enjoyed these posts but I got a couple paragraphs in and it all just screamed Bitch to me.

Snark is snark, but this is just mealy-mouthed whiny pap at this point, trying to make a mockery of the team and program that has absolutely beat their ass over the past two years and looks primed to do it again.

That crap is real rich from coach “I-can’t-grow-a-big-boy-beard” and his fanbase turned giant sobbing babies that can’t even take a gentle jab from noted trash talker and nonagenarian LOU HOLTZ, without spittle-flecked rants in post game interviews and a BSPN sponsored ball wash and apology tour.

Keep in mind, it’s all because your program (or someone close to it- womp womp) hired private investigators to put together a salacious dossier full of SHIT THAT YOU DO TOO, to feed to Pete Thamel so we can all clutch pearls and act like it’s the biggest deal in the effing world (never mind the fact that to date the reaction out of the NCAA has almost literally been a shrug emoji)- YOUR GLASS HOUSE HAS SOME CRACKS IN IT YOU DICKHEADS and you can kiss my flat-white-dadbod-ass if you think you hold some kind of moral superiority here after it was your total bitch move that got your rival’s head coach suspended in an absolutely pigheaded knee-jerk move by a conference commissioner that’s WAAAAAY out of his depth.

Get out of here with this shit. Your column sucks, your website sucks, your team sucks and your whole damn state sucks.

From a moderation standpoint, obviously there's nothing egregious about Michigan Monday, but I do agree that it will likely be increasingly unwelcome by the general population here in light of recent events, and probably with quite good reason. Gerdeman really has joined his fanbase in an unfair and hypocritical critique, although his quips have been a bit more upscale as the OSU beat goes, which really only means that isn't a lot of outright rude language per se.

Some years ago, his analysis was at least somewhat appreciated around here - not by everyone, but sometimes his observations as an outsider seemed fair, but in the last two years in particular, that has been less and less the case and the columns seem rife with underlying worry and have grown increasingly snarky. He's not a terribly funny person, IMHO, but he's certainly not funny now. I believe that, like much of his readership, he's likely ill at ease about what could very well happen a couple weeks from now.

I live in Columbus and I can tell you that my friends who are OSU fans expect OSU to lose this year.

I think the more confident the Buckeyes are going into the game the better it is for Michigan.

The Penn State game may have helped create a narrative for OSU that they are an equal or better football team than Michigan this year.

I'm about done with any media that is OSU supporting or OSU focused.

What do you want them to say? I mean they just saw Michigan bully the number 1 rush D in the country and they know OSU can be run on since everybody is been able to run on them.

At some point in the 2nd half of the game Michigan will go on a 10 minute drive where they only run the ball in that jumbo formation. At that point just like last year OSU will realize they are soft and no amount of saying how “tough” you are is going to change it. Then they will have our permission to die.

Yeah I'm pretty sick of this guy. He was objective and reasonably cool for a Buckeye, up until Michigan actually started challenging Ohio State's supremacy over the conference, now the bitchiness is palpable.

Which I love, but I'm not giving him clicks anymore.

Oh, also, it's beyond a joke for any fan of that program and its punk bitch-ass coach to mock Moore or "Michigan vs Everybody" or pretty much anything. Hope you're ready for your next ass-whipping in 11 days.

I liked reading Michigan Monday.  I found it hilarious, reading things meant to be sarcastic but thinking "Well, actually -- yes!"

For example:

"A lot of damage has been done to Michigan’s undefeated season. It’s a testament to their ability to overcome adversity that they can be so wronged and yet still come out so right. There’s a sort of justice in that, I suppose. But it’s more like the kind of justice that Rambo handed out in First Blood.

But if the bandana fits…

This conference has attempted to derail Michigan through no fault of their own and now the Wolverines have no choice but to rise up and become the conquering heroes that legend has foretold.

As all great literary heroes do, Michigan overcame obstacle after obstacle in State College on Saturday, defeating enemy after enemy, and they emerged as the victors we all know them to be.

From humble beginnings to heroic endings. I would say it’s a tale as old as time, but this may be the greatest story ever told."

Y'all are going a little crazy -- Tony teases and bashes us about as much as normal

I'm not sure where you'd get the idea that they think they're gonna beat us in the name of Good over Evil, maybe the last line implies that, but it also sounds like he's talking about us responding positively

From the article:

For today, Michigan rises like a phoenix from the ashes of a litigious flame. You can not douse what you cannot contain. And just wait until you see the arguments presented in front of a judge this week. All of the best message boards have been scoured. The arguments will be impeccable. And if the judge is into memes, then all the better.

It also means that while all of this off-field absurdity is going on, the Michigan players and coaches will continue right along. Preparing for their next opponent while also keeping just the right amount of focus on Ohio State.

When it gets to November, everything off the field is noise. Everything on the field is all that matters. Don’t expect the noise to get to anybody.

Especially since the response will be the loudest thing of all
