Michigan makes final 7 with Gonzaga, UNC, Ohio St, Georgetown, Minnesota, and Memphis
I get Minnesota (hometown) and UNC but the rest of the list is pretty unusual for such a blue chip.
Minnesota is hometown, UNC is a blueblood, Michigan, Georgetown, and Memphis have coaches with NBA experience (Juwan and Ewing are likely both pitching him on developing as a big man), Gonzaga has a great coach, a lot of talent, and plays a cupcake schedule, and then OSU is kinda the odd team out
I mean I love that we're on the list and all those other schools are great programs but I'm just surprised the rest of the list is not like Kentucky, Duke and Kansas.
The G-League is the real threat.
Duke and Kentucky don't seem to spend a lot of time recruiting kids they don't think will play college ball. They don't need to go after those players to get a class of 5 stars. Kansas has the NCAA breathing down their neck. That's knocked them down a peg or two in recruiting.
Some think the G League is unlikely due to the fact that he could use a year in a college strength program.
Georgetown under Ewing has been a bit of a dumpster fire so Im pretty surprised hes still considering them.
Gonzaga also has Jalen Suggs, who was Chet’s PG in high school last year.
Gonzaga just picked up one of his five-star teammates this past season.
Gonzaga also just got his high school/AAU teammate.
edit: I should read other comments first.
Name the movie.
Weird Science
Bill Paxton was so good in this role.
I don't know who that Cmet guy is but he's really enthusiastic about himself.
Not a lot of Cohen Brothers fans on this thread. Answer: Steve Buscemi in Barton Fink.
Only being slightly sarcastic, but if that kid can double his weight, he's gonna be a problem. His stroke is so pure. His handles are nice too.
He's #2 in the class of 2021 according to ESPN. His highlight reel was surprising to say the least. I don't think he'll play center in college - he seems to play more like a wing on offense. He sort of reminded me of Kevin Durant.
Dude is 7-0, 190 pounds. He has a BMI of 18.9.
Shaq played at 7-2, 325 pounds. Had a BMI of 30.9.
BMI is a crock of shit, but just thought you'd want to know.
Hmm wrong thread
Chet?
Clearly named after Chet Walker-a very fine BB player...with Michigan roots no less.
Led Benton Harbor to a State championship.
I'm probably in the minority, but I think mainstreams probably have Holmgren a bit overrated as a top 2 prospect. I have questions as to whether he'll produce at a high level in college, let alone the G League, if he doesn't pack on at least 30 pounds of muscle mass.
He's a skilled prospect for sure, but he has a glaring deficiency that may preclude him from reaching his potential for another 3-6 years. In particular, the B10 probably isn't the best fit for him.
