Michigan Lacrosse HUGE Win Posbang

Michigan Lacrosse just beat #2 Maryland on the road. This is by far the biggest win in the program's history, and it deserves a posbang.

This is the kind of win that can form the foundation for future success. The fact that they won it convincingly only adds to that.

HUGE WIN.  As most have said - the biggest in program history  and I'll add hopefully the first of many more bigtime victories to come!  Maryland did them some favors by coming out flat and not shooting well but nevertheless they are super talented and extremely well-coached.  I honestly didn't expect this from this team but this was a great effort. This is something they can really build on.

Shout-out to the faceoff men Rowlett and Wietfeldt who were absolutely SUPERB against probably the best F/O man in the country.  The attack played really well as well - Zawada and Boehm were very productive and middie Jacob Jackson had a career game.  And I thought the goalies were great - esp Carr and I thought it was a weird decision to pull him in the 2nd. but Taylor lived up to the moment and had some good saves and a clutch GB/clear late in the game.

Just an unbelievable win. Congrats to the team.

16-11. They did an excellent job of maintaining their advantage after Maryland closed the margin to 1 going into the second half (7-6).

I believe that the closest that Maryland got after that was 11-9 early in the 4th quarter.

I dont know much about lacrosse, but the misdirection plays via slants and cross passes on offense really worked to keep the defense on its heels. Samada was just a maestro on the field. B1G win at Terrapin Station.

So fun to watch.  Being plus 2 or whatever it ended up being in faceoffs against the reigning all American faceoff specialist was so key.  Hoping this is the defining moment that springs them towards being a yearly contender.

Michigan football and basketball recruiting has exploded in the DMV.  When lacrosse does the same, we'll be chasing B1G and National championships.  I will gladly bang to that!

That’s not just the biggest win in program history, it’s the biggest by multiple order(s) of magnitude. So happy for the team and the staffers, etc. who have worked so hard to put them in this position.

Saw the score pop up and was incredibly impressed.  That's a road win at the #2 team in the country and they also gave #1 UVa on the road to start the season.  I don't follow lacrosse but seems like UM is starting to round into a competitive team in the Big 10, which is a decent conference.

You said it: B1G is really tough this year, even moreso than usual. Hopefully this means that they can take on the rest of the conference but that's no guarantee because it's just so tough. BUT - I hope this gives them some confidence because that's really been the missing ingredient for this team and I think that's why they've been so inconsistent. But, if they play like that against the rest of the league, they have a chance. Great win today!  GO GET 'EM AND GO BLUE!!!!!
