Michigan HS Prospect Camp - Parent Reaction/Review
The @UMichFootball Prospect Camp was everything I hoped for and more! Thanks to @CoachJim4UM for providing the opportunity to spend the day long snapping with the @UMich staff and players!#GoBlue #leadersandbest@JTBrown721@JayHarbaugh@GregTarr2@WilliamWagner55 pic.twitter.com/adLGF7XRxq

My son was fortunate to attend the Michigan Prospect Camp yesterday and had a wonderful time. After attending many other well run camps, it was especially pleasing to see that the “Leaders and Best” phrase holds true for running HS prospect camps as well. Coach Harbaugh and his staff did an amazing job of managing over 800 athletes and made it a memorable experience for us.
My son, Coby Tripp - Class of 2025 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Long Snapper - was one of only 4 long snappers and spent 2.5 hours in the stadium with Jay Harbaugh, JB Brown (ST Analyst), and William Wagner (Michigan Player). He’s also been fortunate to spend time with Greg Tarr (Michigan Player), who is an amazing guy and has been a great mentor to Coby. The Michigan staff and players ran the campers through a number of drills, provided instruction, and gave personal attention to all of the specialist players.
After the camp, Coach Harbaugh invited everyone over to the practice facility to watch a brief practice. It’s probably worth a separate post, but two things stood out to me. 1 - Blake Corum appears to be fully healed and went through all of the drills without any limitations and looked good. 2 - AJ Barner is a HUGE man and move’s unbelievably well. He should be a great weapon for JJ.
Overall, we were extremely impressed with the camp and can’t wait to come back next year.
GO BLUE!
Awesome experience for both you and your kid, thanks for sharing, and best of luck with your son's recruiting process.
a.) congrats. cool post. hope he goes blue.
b.) how do you post photos from your phone, iphone in particular if you have one?
Thanks, XM. Posting from my iPhone was a little convoluted, but I essentially had to save the pics off Twitter to my camera role. The same pics were taken on my iPhone, but it apparently wasn’t the correct format (JPEG). Someone else could probably give a better step-by-step process, but the preview option became my best friend for a bit.
A separate post with practice intel? Yes please!
Glad your son had a great experience.
Would "practice" at this point be lifting and speed/agility drills? Only S&C coaches, right?
What an incredible experience, appreciate you sharing it with us!
Congrats to you and your son. But, from now on his name is................ Cheeseman.
Hope he comes to Michigan, because we are LSU.
Thumbs up to another Cheesman. He needs that last star to complete the transformation.
Congrats!. That is so cool, hope your son goes Blue. By the way, is that players only practicing? Camp does not start for another month or so I thought.
It was a “conditioning” activity instead of a practice, which is allowed per NCAA rules. The players were not padded, didn’t wear helmets, and each position group was running through non-contact drills such as the ropes, cutting drills, step over bags, etc.
I can see it now. Random fan posts on message board about Michigan practice. NCAA catches wind and investigates. Somehow come up with major rule violations. Dream season over before it begins.

It was sarcastic - he said it as a joke because Harbaugh/Michigan seems to get picked on more than others. At least we feel that way because programs like Kansas basketball openly paid players before NIL and didn't even get a talking to.
Settle down, big fella!
"... programs like Kansas basketball openly paid players before NIL ..."
Lots of people (especially Kansas fans) seem oddly unaware of this.
No doubt Harbaugh's invitation to the practice field was a 'personal gift', like a non-reported tip.
Thank goodness he didn't mention the informal "burger bash" at the Brown Jug which took place later that evening. I have it on good sources - that some attendees requested "double cheddar" - yes, extra cheese, on their burgers.
There's another rumor that "more than one prospect" - and their families - might have enjoyed a shake from Pizza Bob's after the day's activities - as they walked from the athletics facilities toward central campus.
Oh the humanity...
Because we know the NCAA is always enforcing the rules against unauthorized stretching. And the Freep is ready to write the hard-hitting story about it.
Hey now, the BPONE has moved on from the football team to the basketball team
Was the dong forest in play?
Thanks for posting and good luck to you son! While we all hope he decides to play for Michigan (and that Michigan also decides he should play for them), I'll wish him good luck wherever he ends up.
With the usual caveats, of course...
Thanks for posting. I love the posts about UM experiences.
While the usual run of interpretations, speculations, pillow fights are fun, real people writing about real encounters with UM people are wonderful.
Tell me there were no hamburger lunches exchanged, please?
Otherwise...this may have to be our little secret, easily forgotten.
Having been on more than one recruiting trip / camp with my children, it sounds like the prospects at the camp were able to spend "quality time" with the various position coaches - and, head coach Jim. This is a great experience / opportunity - and, it sounds like they all took advantage of it.
Wishing all of the prospects the best as they continue their process of evaluation and selection.
Go Blue!
Now that I have kids (3 & 5), stories like these hit me right in the feels. I can't imagine how amazing that experience was.
