This is NIL related and a massive loss but our fan base will make a million different crazy ass reasons on why losing one of our best defenders period down the stretch was no big deal.

Somewhere Warde is sitting there saying, "Michigan is trying to be innovative in strangling the last little bit of free labor out of our players"

I congratulate the OP for performing a public service. Many here love nothing more than jumping on posts deemed unworthy. He’s given those posters something enjoyable to take their minds off the unsettling news that keeps coming. He is a true humanitarian.

this strikes me less as 'transition costs' and more retention costs...He wants to get a season of starter-quantity snaps on tape before entering the '25 draft.  With Moore and Paige returning, that wasn't going to happen without an injury to one of those two.  That he might luck into a bigger NIL bag while hunting for a starting job is just a bonus.  I'd bet dollars to donuts that he'd be staying if Moore and/or Paige had left.

Was looking forward to watching his season as dessert following the main feast of our championship. Felt like we had our own bona fide guy that we always used to wonder we didn’t have in the secondary. Incredible athlete and I feel like he’s gonna lay a few highlight reel hits this next season. Hopeful we can poach him back out of the portal…again.
