I ony correct those that are wrong. Ironic is what it is no matter how much you hate the idea.

If it makes you happier I hate psu's uniforms too. I do know when I see them though.

I don't think the PSU uniforms are iconic (unless Brand X generic products are iconic)and I'm not sure they're "ironic" either. However, if you rearrange the black and white into horizontal stripes, they might be representative of past coaches and university administrators. Either way, they are not remotely as iconic as the winged helmet and maize and blue of MICHIGAN. GO BLUE!

dont be in such a hurry to show you are smarter than everyone else in the room. here i will help you out,"relating to or characteristic of a famous person or thing that represents something of importance". so if you are penn state you would find the uniforms "iconic". but anyone else who thinks they are nothing but practice uniforms will not find them "iconic".

There is nothing specvial about Penn State.  Michigan is #1 because of the iconic helmets. .  At this point, helmets and recognition factor determine the "quality" of the uniform.

I would put the main critera as "What uniform would be the most recognizable if nobody told you what team it was?" Here would be my national rank, just off the top of my head.

1. Michigan

2. USC

3. Bama

4. Oregon

5. OSU

6. Florida

7. ND

8. Texas

9.  FSU

10. NW

i was gonna ask how you can have oregon up there, when they change uniforms every single game, but then i guess anyone who watches more than 1 home game will recognize it must be oregon

After years in the military traveling throughout the country, walking into many foreign bars. pubs, and barracks, ward or waiting area TV lounges, I disagree with several of your choices as "able to be easily identified at quick glance on TV"

ND, Navy and Pitt always looked too similar on TV, as did FSU, USC and Iowa State

Ones I could always tell in my experience. (Trying to quickly get a desired game on public TV)

UofM

Tenn

TCU

Iowa

LSU

Texas

Washington

Minnesota

Northwestern

Air Force

Both Oregon schools would make the list with caveats. Old Oregon was very distinguishable, now who knows what their uniform even is and Oregon State is very distinguishable but no one knows them well enough to tell. /s

Pretty much garbage. I saw this yesterday and laughed. If you read the section on Michigan's uniforms, the main criticism is of the alternate uniforms and he said they need to stick to the standard Michigan uniforms. I'm assuming he hasn't realized that happened last year.

He's not totally off however. MSU is 10

Ohio too. They have a buckeye patch? I cant imagine back in the day before the helmets had a silver look to them. Go to one of your team's home games on a cold grey November day and there is this team with all grey and some white on their uniforms? I'd have to wonder if the whole team was going to commit suicide if they lost!

My favorite is that he has Northwestern at 3rd, haha. His justification is "hey man, they've got a stripe across the middle. So...ya."

They are on everyone's top 1, 2, or 3 list out of every CFB team in the country. Number 4 in the B1G is so far off from reality.

For anyone who doesn't feel like clicking here is his explanation for M...

4. Michigan: The greatest thing that could have happened to Michigan was its recent deal with Nike. I was starting to become convinced that Adidas' sole goal with the Wolverines was to destroy their self-esteem by making them wear ugly uniforms, and thereby destroying the football program. For a time there it looked as though it might work! Now we should see an end to the hideous alternates the Wolverines had been wearing, and see them go back to the basics. Maize and blue work wonderfully together. You don't need to do anything crazy with the uniforms to make them stand out with those colors. They do it on their own. Then there's the helmet. I know some people don't like it, but it's an iconic look, and one I find quite appealing and unique.

Before I read it I figured he was just trying to get M fans to talk about his article; I'm okay with the #4 ranking because he bashes adidas.
