You can see how Hunter was aided last season by having Wagner, Livers, Brown and Smith on the court.  All were credible 3 point threats and the defense had to guard the three point line leaving room for Hunter down low.  Without a credible 3 point threat the defenses are crowding the paint leaving Hunter in traffic.

Just confused as to why Houstan gets so much playing time, he's supposed to be a shooter and he sucks at that, the rest of his game is Jones-level garbage.

At least play Kobe, Barnes and Tschetter FFS to give them some experience.

It is as if the Gods have decided football will get all the positive karma.

Did anyone see what Duncan had for a game tonight: played 20 minutes and was 0 for 7 from 3, with no rebounds and no assists.  Miami talk radio is going nuts over his shooting 31% from behind the arc since he signed his $89 million dollar contract.

This game will marinate about the next 30 minutes before I fall asleep I will forget it about it tomorrow morning. The total focus is will be on Saturday for me, I'll worry about this team later.

Pretty bad loss against an objectively average NC team. Still holding out hope they get it together this year but there are some pretty big inherent issues with this team. Freshmen still haven’t hit their stride and it feels like the rotation has not been optimal, so maybe the combination of those getting sorted out makes this team interesting again

We are poorly coached.  And also appears the scouting was off,  Houstan just doesn't appear like he's that good.

The transfer scouting also appears lacking, Jones just doesn't appear like a quality starter like Smith was.

Hunter turns the ball over every other touch, despite his head coach teaching him in the off season and having played his position at the same school.

It can turn around, but this is on Juwan. Atleast at this point in the season.  This is garbage basketball.

I think a lot hinged on the PG play being better.  Expecting Johns to make the leap was always a stretch, but Jones was a coveted transfer PG who doesn't look remotely competent out there and he's honestly getting worse the more games he plays.

Howard has earned, in my eyes, some deference to his abilities as a coach.  Jones and Johns, by comparison, haven't and when that's 2/5th of your starters there's only so much you can do as a coach.

I do hope they play the freshmen more going forward.

I recall a lot of folks saying after Vegas that it was too early to panic. We allowed to panic yet?

In all seriousness, it’s time for a serious recalibration of the expectations for this team. Likely a bubble team. It happens sometimes. The team just has zero chemistry.

Yeah, this just feels like one of those years where they don't figure it out.  It seems to happen to highly-ranked preseason teams every once and a while and this year it appears UM is the overhyped one.

I do think they'll get better as the season progresses but I'm getting strong "10-8/9-9 in conference, hoping to make an okay run in the BTT to get a bid" vibes.

It's funny how everyone this past August was looking forward to the basketball season and giving up on the football team. Now it is reverse. I can't wait for the B1G championship game, then playoffs, and then looking forward to the 2022 football team. Oh well!

Yeah, I'm in my late twenties & this is by far the least fun team to watch in my lifetime. Even tonight, I had to talk myself into getting pumped for a slightly later tip-off (this team has had a week of practice, surely they'll come out well rested & with some more chemistry!) But then they just totally shit the bed with the same issues - turnovers, guys playing outside their roles, no hustle, no effort. It really sucks, like you said - not sure if I'll even tune in to the next one.

Hunter is not a NBA caliber player. Houstian is not a one and done. Johns has regressed. Jones is less than Smith. TWill cannot shoot. I feel sorry for Eli.

Juwan is going to have to hurt some feelings to get this turned around. You're coaching a top tier program, and if a player is consistently not performing, it's time to move on to the next guy. Jones cannot run the offense, Johns is playing scared.

This team is broken in so many ways. I have been watching CBB for 40+ years, it's not gonna get fixed this year but I assume they will get better as the season goes along. No chemistry at all. Just individuals. Hard to watch really. Football and Hockey let's Goooo!!!

Nebraska looks good, I think they could whip us.  At this point we are one of the lower B1G teams. I hope M can pull it together but there is no team chemistry.

Jones needs to be benched like Jarron Simmons.   Once coach B realized he couldn't cut it at this level he barely played.  Juwan needs to start the three freshman, Eli and Dickinson.   Jones is not power 5 talent.

I think it's worry some that thru 7 games this team doesn't even have a 5 minute stretch of good basketball. Alot of times they look like they have never even practiced with each other. Jones is so bad I don't even think he should be the back up. Good night . Beat Iowa!
