Weird rotation too tonight.  No Z for like the last 12 or something.  Very little Teske in the first half.

Almost makes me wonder about a flu bug or something.  We won't know because Beilein isn't Izzo.

Tons of excuse about being tired. Isn't that a crappy excuse? Serious question. They played at MSU and home, so yes 3rd game in 7 days, but first flight. These are 18-22 year old kids. I just don't buy it. Frankly since MSU, they have played pretty bad for 2 games. Too much 1-on-1 play.

is the difference between nothing but net, and the ball clanging off the rim, like you've seen tonight.

A little more effort to get the ball up saps a little more energy, which means a little less effort on defense.

Whether or not they should be tired, the reality is they are tonight.

Not mentally sharp, because playing an intense rivalry game at that level is draining.  And then having to play a more well rested team 36 hours later.  Plus you don't get to practice your adjustment to the thing that slowed them down against Purdue (switching everything).  Miles saw it, copied it, and really frustrated the thing that makes us "unguardable" which is Wagner outside.

The Stauskas team is a good one to remember here.  They destroyed everybody in the Big Ten for the first month of the schedule.  Then Indiana decided to face guard Stauskas with Yogi Ferrell.  Counterintuitive because Nik had 7" on him, but Ferrell was quick enough to deny him the ball.  We lost our major weapon, everybody copied it (simple plan) and we struggled for a couple weeks.  When we finally got a few days off and  time to practice, Beilein installed a series of Stauskas back cuts that destroyed State, everybody had to back off that strategy, and Stauskas resumed his rein of terror.  We need time off to adjust to the switch every screen strategy.

And Nebraska is genuinely good at home.  Not THIS good.  But good.  Only loss was a close game against Kansas.

Bad loss and one of the reasons you’re outside of the first seven seed come March. Hopefully adjustments are made. This team played well this week but got exposed tonight.

Legs
Tired
Delaney
Exhausted

Nutrition, good weight program, great training staff. They aren’t weekend warriors

They’ll be fine Nebraska was good tonight. Give them props. Beilein won’t make excuses, nobody else should.

Nebraska just wanted this one more.. what a brutal loss.. have to play @ Purdue in a few days, had to play nearly perfect after the MSU game to secure a Top 5 seed, going to be very hard now..
