Awesome game by the D. They started well and kept it up throughout all meaningful portions of the game.

The only bad thing was he further injuries to the line. Otherwise, fantastic. If theres anything wrong with this team, it sure as hell isn't Don Brown.

Most important stop was the three and out after the interception.

Also, knocking them back (along with penalties) after the kickoff/penalty that had Maryland starting at the 40.

Mostly great game for the D. We didnt get to see the defensive backs get tested in coverage very much today, so hope they are ready for next week.

Another suffocating day for the D...gave up essentially one TD all game (not counting the garbage time TD), and even that one TD Maryland had to work hard to get. Something like 15 plays to go 75yards, including 3 tries from within the 1 just to score.

Injuries happen every year. It is the great equalizer of seasons. Obviously the team that recruits the best depth remain durable and win titles.

I am much more comfortable with the 'next man up' philosophy as it pertains to our defense as opposed to our offense.

Greg Mattison is one of our best coaches so I feel good about his chances with getting the next guys ready.

Hopefully the coaching staff is smart and moves Gary inside (to his natural DT position) and let's Uche and Paye hold down the DE spot opposite Chase Winovich. With Dwumfour going down and Solomon still out, I think that'd be the best move. Thoughts?

Aggressive.  Need to reduce the stupid penalities and this defense is f-ing the best of all time.  Go Blue !!!

Things I liked:

No big plays (except kick return, of course). MD has a bunch of speedy little guys, and we kept them bottled up all game. Really good job of keeping the ball in front of defenders.

Michigan more ready than MD for their tempo. Big improvement over past seasons.

No targeting this week! Hooray!

Big defensive stop when MD grabbed the lead and momentum.

Good combination of size and speed. Kinnel, Uche, Bush, Winovich, Gil, Hudson all made nice hustle plays.

Brandon Watson has turned into a fine football player. So much for 5th year guys not being able to improve. He's having a fantastic year, and made a great decision to stay.

Although Maryland finished with 220 yards of total offense, 98 of those yards came in the fourth quarter and 78 came in the last 4:25 of the game.

Outstanding defense and reduced the penalties. Pay close attention this week to see if Solomon practices without limitations. Hoping this week or next.

Great play by BWat! He desrved the pick 6 reward!

I can now see why LSU fans ran Canada out of town.

Anyway, Maryland had basically one play that worked for them, Michigan pretty much shut everything down, we even defended Piggy's big run well, just didn't make the tackle at the line.
