Cashed the bonus check, retires, then poo-poos the posters after the money is spent and labor has put them in the seats. Stellar.

Personally, I was hoping he would stick around long enough to take a couple more L's. I feel like the second deposition has more influence to this outcome than anything else. Regardless, he has been an excellent coach for them, and a suspect human being for the things he did when the lights were down low. Riddance, Mork.

Yeah because I’m sure you’d just say “No thanks. I don’t deserve it.” If you had decided to leave your job, but knew you were going to get an extra $4 million if you just stayed a few weeks longer.

I'm not the biggest fan of psychology, mainly because it's used to blame everybody else for your problems by many people, but I believe that you are exhibiting classic signs of "projection."

I dislike him for a lot of reasons, but this isn't one of them. The retention bonus was part of a deal he signed 4 years ago, so it seems like MSU's intent was to reward him if he coached through last season. He actually fulfilled 99% of the time commitment to unlock the bonus when he coached his last game.

I see what Dantonio did as comparable to someone in a normal job waiting out a bonus or stock vest before quitting, which isn't uncommon. I don't find that unethical as long as the person acts in good faith and maintains the same level of effort / performance through the bonus period.

"Today marks one of the most difficult decisions that I have ever made at Michigan State"

Hopefully the most difficult decision was to knowingly accept a rapist onto your football team in the hopes of maybe winning a few more football games. Just kidding, we know you didn't think twice about that, douchebag.

I have to give him credit for not putting the 2015 punt in his letter when listing his major life moments.  I thought he would use that to get one more dig in on Michigan.  This is probably the nicest thing I have ever said about him.
