The part about the Days having done something illegal is just not really credible at this point imo. It would be HILARIOUS if true but just seems farfetched. I don't think they'd be stupid enough to commit crimes to get the data and then present it to the NCAA.

And I don't think the NCAA would be stupid enough to go along with this without knowing how the data was acquired

“I don't think they'd be stupid enough to commit crimes to get the data and then present it to the NCAA.”

LOL  People do the most insanely stupid things every day of the week that they then get arrested for. This doesn’t mean by itself that Day or his brothers are guilty of hacking, but the notion that somebody wouldn’t do something because it’s stupid is belied by the facts that our courts are clogged with cases involving people doing incredibly stupid shit for jaw-droppingly dumb reasons.

“And I don't think the NCAA would be stupid enough to go along with this without knowing how the data was acquired”

This is the organization that did fuck-all about one of the biggest academic scandals in NCAA history (UNC) and basically did next to nothing nothing about other scandals even though it had verifiable evidence of extensive rule-breaking (KU, LSU, TN) so I don’t understand faith that the NCAA will make the right decision about anything.

Yeah, we have plenty of evidence of that sort of behavior all around us every day.  For now, I'm in the camp that it seems pretty unlikely that OSU would break laws like this. That said if they did use a PI to acquire dirt on UM - by whatever means - it does seem they'd be more likely to leak it to media instead of take it to the NCAA, hoping that they'd be able to dump enough info that way for the NCAA to do its own investigation.  That might plausibly allow OSU to skirt some laws without having to openly share/admit it.

Using your logic, I wouldn't think the Harbaugh Family would knowingly allow a staffer to purchase game tickets to opponents stadiums for scouting purposes  with his personal credit card.  Allow A staffer to roam another schools sideline.  Make a travel schedule  to scout.   Openly recruit  other members to their highly trained Special Scouting  Unit a.k.a.  (S)urveying  (T)eams (A)nalytical (L)anguages In (O)nfield (N)ew age (S)ignage.

He is so loquacious and nebulous, I can’t tolerate listening to a 30 minute podcast, even if on high speed. Can anyone who has listened to the whole thing give the reader’s digest version? Does he actually say anything more detailed than what is in the title above?

If the facts support this story, I would be interested in someone looking into what role Day's PI/PR team played in the Smith/Meyer exit.  Basically, what strings did he pull to become OSU's head coach?

From day 1, I have always seen Ryan Day as more of a office politician than a football coach.

First-time poster, long-time lurker. Want to throw out a theory after watching the last couple week’s of Isaiah’s podcasts and reading his articles.

He has consistently said that the “truth will set us free”, without being able to offer much more detail about what that means. He also has put out something new last week about how the Big Ten school sign stealers trade signs every Sunday. In one of his recent shows, the source who gave that intel asked him to repeat that information. It seems important that the source wants that information out there and then repeated.

From the description of how these sign stealers work together, it’s a brotherhood among them. They seem to be young guys interested more in breaking through the coaching ranks than their allegiances to any particular school they work for (besides Connor). See: Connor’s leaked texts with other aspiring coaches.

Connecting the dots to Isaiah saying “the truth will set us free”. I can’t think of much that could exculpate us here, other than two things:

1) The other Big Ten sign stealers do exactly what Connor did. It is easier to share signals with recordings than it is to share written descriptions of signals.

2) The other Big Ten sign stealers were aware of what Connor did, and possibly supported him. They valued his work to record the signals of all teams to make it easier for them to do their jobs. They could have paid him or he did this ground work as a favor, hoping it’s returned to him somehow in the future as they each advance their coaching careers.

This “truth” would certainly set us free, and would frankly be embarrassing to other Big Ten schools who have acted holier than thou about sign stealing.

I think the Big Ten and NCAA will still get their pound of flesh. But it would certainly change the narrative if it’s found that other teams knew about this for years and/or recorded signals themselves.

This theory fits what Isaiah has said about how these sign stealers work together. My guess is that the coaches just leave the sign stealers to their own devices (don’t ask/don’t tell). It’s entirely possible that they all knew about this gray area in the NCAA rules related to in-person scouting with non-staff members, and all exploited it to advance their careers.

If there is indeed illegality by the PI firm what Police entity takes the lead, A2 Police, Michigan State Police, County AG, State AG or the Feds?   And should not at least one of those groups now be investigating.  Another question, if either the B10 or NCAA found some shady potentially illegal doings by OSU and the PI firm would not they have to turn that into Law Enforcement.  Just asking as there certainly appears to be some funny business going on.
