but fuck...

"Plan B's" + 3 stars and sleepers for the MOST part, not all, but most part
isn't a statue. He's a pocket passer with terrific footwork. He's not a John Navarre/Wilton Speight type statue. I'd compare him to Colt McCoy as a player.
I was mostly comparing frames and styles of play. I'm probably 100% underselling McCoy's speed, but they're both 6'1 skinny dudes that ball hard.
I'll bet you 10k Colt McCoy is faster.
Wire me the cash.
...high profile schools out there. And they will recruit top caliber players. Another day at the office folks.
I wouldn't be surprised if Harbaugh didn't pursue that hard. He is going for more athletic QBs these days.
Harbaugh has the kid travel here from California on his own dime to tell him we're not that interested. He was easily the #1 QB on our board according to everyone that covers our recruiting. Do we even have a #2 at this point?
I guess that also means no chance for Speight to see the field.
This sounds similar to me. Dad was more interested than son - at least it got us the visit and a shot.
Kid sounds like a truly gifted QB - did surprise me how "short" he is for a QB given his rankings.
It went really well. He released a top 4 afterwards with M in it.
The only refund he'll give ya is the courtesy flush
Then we'll see that 40 time.
He's a kid, so I'd tell you to get over it.
This happens all the time in the real world, too. You'll get interviewed for a job and then you get rejected the next day. Companies have their ideal candidate in mind that they've interviewed and they want to make an offer to, but they're doing their due diligence to make sure there isn't anything or anyone they've missed. You get a shot, but you're going to have to blow the hiring manager away.
Could be the same thing with this kid. He had a pretty good idea in his mind that he was going to USC, but he might as well come here to make sure that he has all his facts in front of him and could make an informed decision. But if nothing blew him away on the visit and he pretty much knew he was never going to commit here barring something unexpected happening on the visit, then why drag it out? For the sake of common courtesy or class?
The shitty to do would've been to drag the coaches along and make them think they still had a shot. Harbaugh will do great with whoever ends up in the class, so just get over it and move on.
I don't expect Harbaugh to let up just yet, but we should probably expect more focus to someone like Grant Gunnell or Michael Johnson Jr. I'm still surprised we didn't go after Matt Corrall in the 2018 class considering we were thinking of taking 2 QBs
UM as well
But for $ome rea$on, a $outhern California kid like Matt Corral wa$ focu$ed on program$ in the $outhea$t.
It wouldn't pay to pursue him if he's not that interested. and he apparently wasn't. There's the downside of giving Milton second thoughts. He may be OK with the idea of a 2nd QB in the class, but so was Tyler Shough, until he wasn't.
Like Devin Asiasi....
