Joy At Sparty's Comeuppance, But ...
Holy cow does the B10 have an officiating problem. I don't remember seeing so many blown calls on such big plays in such proximity to one another. Replay guys are completely whiffing as often as not as well. And, I think Sparty got "Sparty Bob'd" by the timekeeper on the last play.
I love me some Sparty tears, but the B10 needs to get this fixed, and promptly. And, I'd be happy for them to start Sunday by saying publicly "yeah, Sparty, you got f'd -- deal with it."

After the 36 bad targeting calls against UM this year, I have a problem feeling bad for Sharty...

If they're gonna make a statement to a B1G fanbase I'm pretty sure Sparty should be last on their list.

Is everybody forgetting they let Nebraska drive 95 yards with no timeouts under 1 minute left and STILL had 17 seconds to win the game?
Fuck, man... I agree they got screwed bad but they did everything possible to put themselves in position for that.
Not to mention they have the clock management skills of a Rutgers quarterback with the game on the line.

AND, they would have helped themselves by getting a, um, you know, um, FIRST DOWN!
November 8th, 2015 at 9:02 AM ^
That's twice this season I can think of their all-world "future NFL superstar" could not get them a 1st down when it really mattered.
The first time they were lucky enough to win on a special team blunder after not leading at all in the first 55:55 of the game. This time their "tremendous defense" allowed a midling offense to hang in all game and essentially drive the length of the field with under a minute and no timeouts.

It was just awful how those refs blew a 12 point lead with four minutes left. I mean, we need to blame them! It wasn't Sparty's fault!!!

The clock doesn't stop until the ball lands which was after the clock ran out.
In general though I agree with your post.
This is just because I love posting this picture:

B1G officiating is a disaster. Dude stepped out. The call was wrong.
But fuck Mork and the Sparty No's.As for the last play, I say the play wasn't done until the ball landed. Time was gone. But if they were to get reverse Sparty Bob'd, that much better.

The time thing was right but I think he went out voluntarily. Anyway a loss is a loss. They don't put any asteriks on their win vs. us.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:32 PM ^
They got jobbed on the TD pass but with their luck I swear some Colt McCoy Texas-Nebraska stuff was gonna happen at the end.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:33 PM ^
There were at least three calls in our game today that were significantly worse.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:57 PM ^
it's all over the league -- you cannot watch a half of a B10 game without some obvious disaster from the crew/replay officals. Time for some kind of change -- I have no idea how that crowd is run by the league, but they are not getting the job done now.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:33 PM ^
Sparty gets 10,000 calls in its favor and then cries when one call goes against them.
Boo hooo, sparty.
November 8th, 2015 at 1:13 AM ^
will always cry. I wonder how the dipshits would react if they were in UM's shoes every week? Probably start burning down their own houses instead of couches. Now that would be cool.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:33 PM ^
It was a terrible call, and the B1G does need to fix this shit. However, fuck Sparty and it's about god damned time a bad call bit them in the ass. No sympathy. None.

I saw Dantonio in his press conference and he was much better than I expected. Maybe he saves all his supreme douchiness for us.

ACC or Pac-12 are easily the worst.

MSU got away with several PIs earlier in the game that could have resulted in Nebraska points.
Screw Dantonio.
P.S. The clock was 100% correct and they can't review whether or not the WR was pushed out of bounds by the DB.
November 7th, 2015 at 11:58 PM ^
No matter how bad a call, it can't be reviewed.
The only thing I can think of that the booth could review on that play is whether the Nebraska player got back in bounds for the catch. Which he did. Easily.
November 8th, 2015 at 12:00 AM ^
Exactly: Yes, a bad call on the field, but no, not the replay official's fault. And, no, I don't feel sorry for them :)
But what on earth wwas being reviewed? As it was happening, I assumed, as a judgement call, that the push wasn't reviewable and got really nervous once they started to review the play. I'm glad I was right--and the replay official knew the rules, unlike in the Duke/Miami game--but I can't figure out what they were looking at in the replay, unless it was to make sure he got his feet back in, but that was very clear.
