Joy At Sparty's Comeuppance, But ...
Holy cow does the B10 have an officiating problem. I don't remember seeing so many blown calls on such big plays in such proximity to one another. Replay guys are completely whiffing as often as not as well. And, I think Sparty got "Sparty Bob'd" by the timekeeper on the last play.
I love me some Sparty tears, but the B10 needs to get this fixed, and promptly. And, I'd be happy for them to start Sunday by saying publicly "yeah, Sparty, you got f'd -- deal with it."

... if OSU beats MSU, and Michigan runs the table, Michigan wins the division. At worst, Michigan is in a two-team tie with OSU and holds the tiebreaker.
If MSU beats OSU, then Michigan needs to win and get help from PSU. I'd rather know going into the OSU game that it's for all the marbles.

Like others said, it is better if OSU beat MSU. Then they will be ranked as high as they can be. Then if we beat them comfortably (by more than a TD), then we are going to create a controversy at the end of the year for the committee (assuming we blow out IOWA). Slim chance, but that is what we get out of yesterday's Sparty loss.

I am not sure. You may be right. We were stunned at the stadium. There were so many things that was wrong about that play. If the refs are not going to call those, I don't see them giving us a second.

has had some recent retirees of officials that were quite good. They obviously have not replaced them very well.
Possible the game is just becoming too advanced and too fast for them to keep up with what's going on.

It was pointed out that msu ran multiple pick plays against us. However, we were the ones that were constantly being called for penalties on 3rd down after we made a stop.
What goes around, comes around.

CLock on final play was right. Can't review the out of bounds receiver thing and since they only showed a blimp view who knows if he was pushed or not. This is nowhere near as bad as the fucking we received from the refs.
I saw MSU up 38 33 with the ball and 3 or 4 minutes to go while at dinner and thought, damn MSU barely wins again. I decided to watch the end of the game on the watchespn app just in case when I got home later and wow, that was awesome, so unexpected. Now we have a chance to win the B1G!

This does not make us somehow "even" for the 3 and a half hours you dribbled pudding down your collective chin in Ann Arbor on October 17, helping make that game loseable in the first place. That said, it is much appreciated that you decided to spread your incompetent jackassery around, especially to its most recent beneficiary.
On the "how rich was that irony?" scale, this was foie gras wrapped in moist chocolate cake topped with a stick of butter, slathered in alfredo sauce and eaten while wearing an "I HEART UMAMI" t-shirt. (Coincidentally, that was also Bret Bielema's post-game snack.)

We all expected M to throttle Rutgers. We did not expect Jake Rudock to channel Tom Brady in the process. A good day.
We all expected Sparty to win in Lincoln. That he did not, especially on a last-second controversial play, was fine too. It just added to an already good day.
I know it's not nice to enjoy "Schadenfreude" (loosely translated: reveling in the misfortune of others). But damn, those East Lansing rednecks have been the beneficiaries of so many controversial calls --- especially against our team --- that it's most satisfying to see the football gods finally sort of even the score. Remember "Downtown Eddie Brown" and the 1990 blown pass interference call against Desmond? And remember Brown admitted he fouled Desmond? And who can forget 2001's "Spartan Bob and his Infernal Time Machine" that gave aptly named Jeff Smoker an extra second to throw the winning TD pass to TJ Duckett?
Oh well. Whenever I begin to feel low about such miscarriages of justice I just throw on the DVD of the 2004 game and watch Mike and Braylon and Chad legitimately run, catch, and pass all over Sparty. Go Blue.

march down the field with wide open pass plays against their prevent defense. Even if that TD pass doesn't count and NU gets flagged for it, NU still had time and downs to get the score.
Let's face it, MSU choked the game away and should look in the mirror first.
Similarly I think Michigan fans have made way too much of the officiating in the MSU game given we literally had it in our hands to win it and fumbled it away in perhaps the dumbest way imaginable.

the Big Ten Officiating.. In fact I know a couple and they are class act guys. Where stuff gets tricky is when somethings are reviewable and other things are not.

And incredibly inconsistent............does it even out in the end? Hell no, just get it right the first time.
