Seriously, you didn't see upside with Jordan Poole?  You did not see his potential, while still being a bit frustrated that he was seemingly not on the same page as the staff?  There has never been any question as to whether Jordan Poole has game.  He does.  I think John Beilein would be the first one to tell you that Jordan Poole could be a borderline star if he is able to generate shot volume without succumbing to his worst tendencies.

I know he did not shoot a particularly high percentage last year but there were times when he would step somebody back and splash a quick release 3 in their eye when I said "yeah pro for sure."  And he is not an all day rack-attack guys but he has also shown an ability to finish creatively amongst the trees at the rim.

And now he gets to intern for Steph Curry?  I think that some outcomes are more dependent on who drafts a player than they are on how high a player gets drafted.  I would say that Poole is one to watch 2 years from now.

I agree. I understand being bitter about Poole leaving, but - shocker - turns out he knew better than we did what to do with his career.

Questioning Poole's upside is not the right way to criticize his move. If he washes out of the league because of a lack of playing time or development, then I can see arguing that he should have stayed in school. But at this point, it absolutely looks like the right decision for him to have left.

Plain and simple, he fits their system.  If they can get his shot selection corrected he can succeed because he’s on the right team.  Whether he had differences with the coaching philosophy or not, you can’t say that they didn’t prepared and develop him to get to the 1st rd.  He’ll get plenty of OJT, and if he gets 6-8 off the bench each night he’s doing well.

Yeah but not so much recently.

But Poole has the opportunity of a lifetime in these next 8 months. Klay and KD are out, and he's playing in the best system in the NBA.

He has a real opportunity to make a name for himself while they're out.

I definitely have reservations because I've felt a lot of his issues are just going to amplify in the NBA, but clearly having a PG who can't shoot isn't one. He got what he wanted - now go and prove it.

And Klay.

...that said, that doesn't really mean anything here. I personally see him as a low budget Nick Young and not because he's Michigans Swaggy P.

But the Warriors got some great minutes out of Young and a championship. He'll fit the Northern Cali culture without question.

Great spot for him. Come in off the bench and provide some offense with the 2nd team...because right now they have ZERO guys who can get their own shot who come off the  bench.

I think people are aggrieved because they know Poole is really good and they feel cheated that we only got to see some of it realized here.  His slump in the second half of the year intensifies that feeling.  The Detnews quoted the GS GM as saying Poole has some upside with only two years of college.   With $4Million in guaranteed money it looks like he definitely made the right decision.  Seems like it is almost a detriment to actually play basketball in college rather than have people see your potential.  I no longer blame Poole for leaving and understand why Beilein left.  College basketball is no fun if all of your players leave early.  I'm starting to buy-in to those NHL type deals where players are drafted and paid, but can still play on a college team.

Wow. Thought he would be an end-of-the-second-round pick at best. He took a bet on himself and it worked out. Good for him.

I think it was that combined with how he left. Most guys leave on good terms and thank their coaches and teammates and say theyre just ready for the next challenge. JP & Fam went out trashing the then coach, system, and current players. Not really a great look.

The family should not have left "trashing" but they had every right to do so. Jordan had/has a helluva a lot of talent and Beilein effectively screwed him over. Coach Beilein is an outstanding coach but here he had it all wrong and is at great fault. The sad irony here is that Beilein is the one who screwed the program and left by turning the tables upside down yet he skates off unscathed. Y'all can make excuses for Beilein and his staff until the cows come home but on this one they were very wrong. This kid is a player...the ignorant fans be damned.

congrats to him. thats actually a perfect fit for him and the warriors play style. he will need to learn to be decisive when he has the ball in his hands
