Good pick for them. End of the first round is a total crapshoot. Might as well roll the dice on someone that can develop.
Lol at anyone saying he shouldn't have left. He obviously got news from some teams. Sucks for us but he made the right choice
Wow.
He took such a hard pass on returning that he had to have known something from the get go.
Happy for him. He gave Michigan one of the greatest basketball moments ever.
A lot of crow on the menu for a lot of Michigan fans.
Still wished the Cavaliers would have drafted him.
You had a better chance of being drafted by the Cavs.
Poole - "Come back to Michigan for another year under Beilein? Hard pass, thanks."
Beilein - "Take Jordan Poole in the draft? Hard pass, thanks."
He took KPJ so I don't think he has an issue with talented guys that need to be coached up. But JP landed in the right place. And JB had a pretty stellar draft. Everybody wins.
What does that tell you that they didn't?
That’s sweet. Bummed he didn’t show up big in the second half of this year for us, but hope he does well in the pros.
That's awesome! LFG DRIP!
If you have a “not the pick I would have made!” take, save it. No one cares.
Just be happy for Jordan. The best run organization in the game saw fit to draft him in the first round and guarantee him a contract. Hell yeah.
I could be wrong here but I'm pretty sure it's only lottery picks that are guaranteed a contract.
You're wrong. All first-round contracts are guaranteed.
Wow. Ok then. That's awesome for him. Definitely didn't realize that he was guaranteed a 2 year deal at minimum.
About $4million guaranteed for two year and twice that at club option. Well done Jordan
It's fairly standard even for second-round picks to get at least two guaranteed years now.
With rare exception first rounders sign for guaranteed deals based on the rookie pay scale.
Poole just made 80-120% (range teams can offer) of $4.65 over 3 years with two team option years to follow.
Yep. Even if he busts out, if he invests that money properly he can live off of it his entire life. He won the lottery.
Fire Bakich?
Lame.
You're that guy on Rovell's Twitter talking about the water cooler.
i'm definitely eating crow; i thought late second... late first is really surprising.
WOTS was that he really did well in his individual workouts. Combine this with the GSW's injuries it makes a bit more sense... of course, this is why I am not an NBA scout.
Congrats to the Jordan; not going to cheer for GSW, but hope he does well
I'm happy to finally have Mich guy to cheer for in the Bay Area.
Definitely think Steve Kerrs type of coaching will work wonders with Poole.
Also the Warriors need lots and lots of wings, so its a pretty good fit.
I stand corrected, and I'm happy to be wrong. Good on Poole for getting drafted in the first round, to a team that will likely develop him.
I am surprised how off the pre-draft buzz was around him; if anything, he was trending down recently.
...for 99% of this board.
The reality is that only one team has to be stupid enough to draft him and in this case the Warriors were. Refused to scrimmage at the combine because he knew he would be further exposed.
Fuck off.
Or, didn't scrimmage because he knew he was being drafted in the first round.
Woah! The last of the Beilein first round picks! Congrats Jordan, wish you the best.
Awesome for Jordan!
I’m guessing Kerr was looking for a way to piss off Draymond
GO BLUE!
Congratulations to the young man!
I'm surprised but not shocked.
He's in a really good place too.
Go Blue, Jordan! We'll be rooting for you!
Don’t care. His head wasn’t in the game this year for Michigan, he played with a foot out the door all year. His parents also talked shit about Simpson. Hard to root for him at this point.
I did not see that coming!
Overdose of Swag
Sure would have been nice for Michigan to have NBA first-round-player performances this past season.
Good luck in Oakland, did not see that coming.
Moving to new arena in SF next season.
Super happy for JP, did not expect him to at all, let alone in the first round but good luck dealing with Draymond buddy... you're gonna need it
Went to as many National Championship games as Draymond, both as Freshman. Is also a 1st round pick, DG was not (35th overall). Draymond had a decorated collegiate career, for sure. He's also an idiot.
Knew there would be a thread here :-) Hi everybody!
First round, congrats Jordan!!
Sooooo it was the right decision then........
Better in pros than at M
Streaky good shooter, average defense, poor decision at times.
Perfect for pros.
I don't think anyone saw this coming. Good for him. Wish he would have played like that while he was here, but he definitely has potential.
Get some perspective you rock-candy-for-a-dildo wielding cunt
Tell 'em how you REALLY feel!
Maximum escalation.
