"Iowa has faced 2 better RB's than Haskins"

This is an actual quote from a podcast from Black Heart Gold Pants site (go to 31:50 for the quote).

What does PFF (or OSU defensive line) know?

If they think Hassan Haskins is only the third best RB that they have faced all year, I don't think they will have any idea what hit them after the dust settles on Saturday.

I can only think they'd mean ISU and Wisconsin. I'll try to be a bit unbiased and give em Breece Hall from ISU.

But that frosh RB from Wisconsin isn't Haskins.

I don't know enough to make an informed judgment on this.  That said, Haskins is a m'fing beast who never stops fighting for extra yards.  I don't think I even enjoyed watching Mike Hart as much as I enjoy watching Haskins.  And, even assuming the other backs are better individually than Haskins, they have not faced a stable of backs like we have with Haskins, Corum, and Edwards.

Okay - but these arent the guys playing on the field. just as we arent. im sure they saw what we did last week. i hope corum and edwards can keep balance enough to keep haskins fresh.

Uof〽️ RB room is deep,  it’s one of the best in country.  We all love Hassan but I don’t think he’s the most talented back on the roster.  I’m so happy we Hassan, Blake and Edwards.

Totally a dumb statement because Iowa hasn't faced Haskins yet. If they say that after the game then so be it.

Let's hope Michigan gives this Iowa team such a drubbing-GO BLUE!

So --- Iowa will be competitive because:  1. letdown, 2. Iowa has an extra day of rest, 3. McNamara doesn't pass a lot and is only a so-so athlete, 4. Haskins is average, 5. Michigan didn't blow out Rutgers, 6. Iowa will take care of 'business' in a 'business-like' way, 7. we only care about beating OSU.

It is weird hearing other people talk about UM the way they used to talk about OSU as far as 'talent' goes.

I just hope we win. Iowa scares me and I’m more nervous than I was last week. It’s not as if we’re playing Indiana here, Iowa is a dangerous team under any circumstances let alone for a chance at the CFP.

The key is to not turn the ball over, but Michigan is absolutely comfortable with rock fights.  That's basically what the Wisconsin, UW, and PSU games were.  The difference is that UM can also turn it into a track meet, something Iowa absolutely doesn't want to compete in.  So if UM gets up 7-10 Iowa isn't equipped to throw the ball to get back into it.

... Ok.

How many better OLs has Iowa faced WITH a very good RB behind it?

Cause I don't think facing an equal-ish back to Haskins means you're going to have a fun time tomorrow considering OSU's DL and LBs were eating faces full of 300 pound OL every play.

Iowa fans are a little feistier than I expected.  Some guy was going on about how we're "overrated" because Michigan and Iowa apparently have the same record over the last 20 years.  Of course he didn't mention that we compete in the East and they compete in the West, funny thing about that.  (Also: RichRod going 3-9 in 2008 isn't super relevant to 2021.)

Iowa fans are proud believers. I remember going to watch Iowa play at the Big House in 2002 and Iowa fans being among the most boisterous rude fans I had ever encountered at Michigan Stadium, and that includes attendance at two Ohio State games. That day, Brad Banks and Dallas Clark put an ass-whupping on the Wolverines, 34-9. Michigan couldn't do anything right that day and couldn't nor rarely tried to run the ball. That was the most lopsided loss I ever saw the Wolverines experience at home.

They are still fairly complimentary of the rushing attack overall.  Once Haskins drags their talented LBs for 3 yards after contact a few times they will understand.

I just looked at the 2022 schedule -- I didn't know before now that we play at Kinnick next season. Hey, they can have that one, if we can have this one. Deal, Iowa fans?

I'd imagine that Hassan is more than sufficiently motivated to begin with, but if he needed a burr under the saddle, this will work.
