O’Reilly’s was awesome during the NCAA bball tournament - lots of great fans regularly there for football games as well.

December 2nd, 2021 at 9:16 PM ^
Yes! I will be there with one of my sons, Indy Matt. Are you going?

unfortunately not going. planning on an old testament cattle sacrifice to satisfy the almighty and assure us a spot in the CFP. and i'm only kind of, half-way, you know, kidding.
i was at saturday's game though, and that was a very special day for all the folks that made it.

Was there for the Louisville game. Has a great time!

Tin Roof in Lexington, KY is a huge college bar, but that's mainly because it's right across from the campus.

Coaches and O'Reilly's share a wall. Pearl St is connected to them in the back. You do have to go outside to enter each establishment.
All are fun places to watch a game. Nothing fancy, but lot's of fun

Wouldn't it be great if one of our sponsors was hosting a massive pre-game across from the stadium. Would be even crazier if they were offering to buy you a drink.
December 2nd, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
Sounds like that place is tiny though.

If anyone wants to hit up a brewery that's not particularly close to the stadium (2.5 miles) I recommend Guggman Haus.

We are going to O'Reilly's early.. Kilroys is a good spot ,howl at the moon is a fun piano bar and slippery Noodle is a good time.

Indy resident since 2009 here. Some ideas:
DOWNTOWN
Unfortunately, downtown lost some in the past year (Slippery Noodle, Champps, Rock Bottom), but good options remain. Within 10-15 minutes of the stadium you've got Yardhouse, Kilroy's, Punch Bowl Social, Nada, District Tap. A Louisville brewery called Goodwood just opened in the old Ram. Also highly recommend Taxman's Brewpub, located on South and Delaware (so an easy walk to Lucas). the Plat 99 bar in the Alexander across the street is good for cocktails. There's a strip of bars on South Meridian that I do not frequent these days but for an event like this gets the job done: Tiki Bobs, Brother's, etc.
A little further from the stadium is Metazoa Brewing, which is a solid option if you're looking to hit up a brewery.
MASS AVE
This district is a tad northeast of "downtown" on...Massachusetts Avenue. There's something for everyone there. Rathskellar has a great biergarten that will be going in Saturday's 50 degree weather. Burnside is 3 levels and solid. The Tap is a decent sports bar. A little further up Union 50 does great drinks. And if you find yourself at Goodfella's Pizza, you might stumble upon their speakeasy if you look hard enough.
Fast casual dining: hit up Slapfish. They just opened a bar next door called Raw Bar too.
North End: the new BOTTLEWORKS district. Great food hall, a cool gaming bar, all around good stuff (across the street is a great cuban casual place called Yat's)
FOUNTAIN SQUARE / FLETCHER PLACE
The area just southeast of downtown has some great spots:
-Bluebeard: one of the best meals in town
-Hotel Tango: great craft distillery worth your time
-Chilly Water / Hoagies and Hops: Hoagies features authentic philly cheesesteaks (they fly their bread in from New Jersey) and Chilly Water has my favorite Indy beer: Blood on the Tracks Blood Orange IPA.
- Upland: Bloomington based craft brewery known nationally for their sours (good food too)
-Thunderbird: cocktail bar
-La margarita: solid mexican restaurant

Just to add to this, I would avoid those places AFTER the game. If you're over 25 like me, you'll be really out of place.

Brothers is great, I will for sure stop there before the game, but as you say, not so much after the game. Most likely will head home after the game. I live about 25 min north of Indy in Fishers.

How late are bars open? I see Yard house closes at 11:30 pm on Sat’s. If we win I’d love to have some post-game beers while I wait out the Uber surge.
December 3rd, 2021 at 9:13 AM ^
There are bars that will be open til 3 am.
December 3rd, 2021 at 11:56 AM ^
Yardhouse is more of a restaurant than a bar. They do have a bar, but it's mostly tables for dining. Other places will definitely stay open much later.

My dad is really looking forward to seeing the band in Indy. Does anyone know if they will be outside anywhere before the game?
