This will be your thread for snowflakes and hot takes regarding the offense and offensive performance for our game against Illinois.

EXACTLY.  That is COACHING.  We are the worst team in FBS in turnovers.  We fumble like a bunch of kids trying to pickup a greased watermelon.   Jay Harbaugh must he fired or reassigned and get Mike Hart in here to teach these kids how to hold onto a football.

Oh, and the offense "hitting their stride", yeah Harbaugh needs to put down the crack pipe.

Random, yes. But I just Googled this. Footballperspective.com (no idea who they are) did an analysis from 2000-2011 and 62% of non-QB running plays and 60% of receiver fumbles are recovered by defense. 45% of QB runs are recovered by defense.

Makes sense as more defenders are around the ball after the line of scrimmage.

Fumble rates sure don't seem to be random. We really suck at it this year. It's hard to figure how you coach that out of guys. We always see practice film of RBs running through gauntlets of machines or guys beating them with pads. Not sure if Mike Hart has any secret sauce. Seems to be just plain concentration after you get past the line of scrimmage.

Other than the first quarter, the offense was complete shit.  Fumbles, bad passes, drops, etc.  Props to Haskins though....he might be the only player to not fumble.

Not just the fact that he doesn’t fumble.. he probably has our top 5 longest runs on the year. He is hard to bring down and has good speed.

i have no idea if he truly has our top 5 longest runs, but he does seem to break more long runs than the rest of the backs

Shea gets credit for that drive, a few other throws (the slant to Bell and the RPO to Schoonmaker stand out), and the grit he showed to get the first on the 4th and 2 keeper.

As for the rest, another bad game, but it looks like he's the best we have. If DCaff was cleared to play today, he must be way worse,

I was really disappointed to see that Michigan's offense would be credited with a touchdown after that last turnover. They deserve no credit for that.

TWell, he had 150 yards in 1st half, finished with 194. So not a great 2nd half.

Also, not a single catch for Collins. A couple for Black, a couple for DPJ. Can’t find the WR’s even against a terrible team

[Edit - um, sorry bout that, didn’t realize that Nico did not play. My bad. I stand by the rest of it though - a couple catches each for DPJ and Black means Shea is still not finding them, not even vs a terrible defense]
