I think it's about time to get rid of the MGOBLOG header.
Especially it look's like it was designed by a high schooler doing "acid". And we are now Big 10 Champions and now have a coach that more likely win Coach of the Year. Come on man !
*claps enthusiastically*
This is Michigan 'fer God's sake!
I'm just one random person on the internet, but I really like the header.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The banner is awesome. Creative, hilarious, and witty.
I do miss Juwan's ?.
If we must change it, we should honor this king (posted in another thread too, but idc, can’t post this image enough)
Awesome pic. My OCD really wishes MSU had 45 points when that happened.
I don't think the banner has ever changed based off of a big win or conference championship. Not that I'd have a problem changing it, but that's just not how it gets changed. Would be nice to at least have some basketball reference on the banner though considering how much better they are than the football program.
Have to say though that you've either never done acid or had one lame trip if you find a bunch of fairly plain text trippy.
It did after the B1G Tournament won in NYC.
That banner change clearly lost us the national championship
/s
uhhhhhhhh.......what? That shit is fire bruh
Why the quotes around “acid”?
For real. Narc alert
He’s smoking drugs or something
Also what's up with "look's"?
I like the header, but it is heavily tilted towards an underachieving program and not enough towards a program that produces good results on the court and feel goods off the court.
Hart's back. Time to bring this one back.
Was that an actual banner here? Guess that was actually before my time. I started coming around when Rich Rod got hired. Guess I didn't sign up until 2010, according to my own account details. Thanks, Internet.
I made it in 2008, I think.
Why did you put acid in quotes? It's just acid.
And although I think it's a well-designed banner, I do think it's time for a change. Brian should do another photoshop challenge/tournament.
Someone doesn't remember the effect a banner change can have on an athletic department's juju. You leave that banner right the hell where it is until we bring home a natty!
Ugh... While I think you mean 'bring home a national championship', your use of 'natty' is turrible. Natty is one of the objectively worse beers one can swill. Choose better...
I do otherwise agree with you, though - DO NOT CHANGE THAT BANNER UNTIL THE NCAA TOURNAMENT TROPHY COMES HOME TO ANN ARBOR NEXT MONTH!
Isaiah Livers disagrees with you:
"The Big Ten title ... that's a high accomplishment for me," Livers said after the game. "We all play like brothers. I want the natty [national championship], too. We're going to go win a Big Ten championship, have a March Madness run and, fingers crossed, go get that natty."
Gah!! Dammit, Isaiah!!!
I like the banner because I like football better. Usually telling people to care more about one sport when they aren't already doing so fails miserably. Football is king and always will be. Accept it.
Be careful what you wish for, remember the header that preceded this one.
I dig the banner
Well, design a better one and pitch it to us!
Those that have been here long enough know there is only one correct answer to this debate.
2 thoughts:
First, ain't it great that we feel invested enough in MGoBlog that we decide we're part of the blog's design team? (And the moderator team. And the content team. And ...)
Part Deux: I wonder if the urge to change comes not from weariness with this header but an inclination to favor a more traditional design style, with a stark image (think a company's logo or a politician's campaign ad with a flag or an eagle or a gun) than this modern, semi-ironic, deliberately non-traditional approach.
"acid"
Boomer post
I like the banner, but that said I wouldn't be opposed to giving the basketball team some love up there for awhile. After all, they've actually been relevant and won some things over the past 20 years.
The banner should be changed to reflect the success of the basketball teams.
BUT
Don't change one GD thing until after the NCAA Tournament.
Now, beat State. Again.
