I kinda hope Frost succeeds?

Scott Frost has a punchable face. He's made a lot of arrogant comments. Having said that, he's the kind of guy I like to hate. He doesn't have any scandals (knock on wood). As far as I know, he hasn't hired any assistants who were embroiled in horrific sexual assault scandals like some schools have. I think the conference, and especially the West division, would be a lot more interesting with a good Nebraska squad. They're never going to be a death star like OSU. They'll always be beatable by a good Michigan team. Wisconsin is a good program of course, but they're not so good that they should be a shoe-in for division champs most years (though maybe taking a step back with Chryst). That's basically where I would like to see them, at a Wisconsin level of success. Nebraska has a lot of history and from what everyone seems to say, they're generally nicer than most fanbases. Who knows what will happen, but it would be really cool if, say, Ferentz retires and Iowa hires Bielema (alum with a Hawkeye tattoo) and Iowa-Nebraska turns into a real rivalry. The only thing that gives me pause about this is Nebraska has rotated onto our schedule for the next few years through 2025, but oh well.

Side note: I forgot we play at Texas in 2024. Xavier Worthy would be a senior. Having said that, there's a good chance he'll be in the draft before his senior year :/

I was happy about Nebraska coming into the league, and thought it was great that initially they were in our division. I figured we'd get some great games.

Scott Frost is an asshole, but that's not unique among football coaches.

I hope he sticks at Nebraska. I'd like to see them become competitive again.

It's completely fair to simultaneously respect the Nebraska program, players, and fanbase (some of the best I have ever interacted with) while also recognizing that Scott Frost is thoroughly dislikable for both M-centric historical reasons as well as just generally. Also, his disregard and violation of Covid protocols last year most assuredly qualifies as a scandal to me. That guy (and CAROL) has been a relentless clodpole at about every opportunity.

I'm fine with saying that Nebraska becoming even competent to make the West something that resembles a competitive division is probably a welcome development, but I sure don't want to see it with Frost at the helm.

No scandals? He's been outted recently for banging a 21 year old waitress in one of the coach's apartment above said bar. I don't know if he's married or not and don't care to research it. But that was a pretty big "scandal" that hit the boards a few weeks ago.

I've said this since Nebraska hired him. I'm sick to death of seeing one good, not great, team being a shoe in to win the west while the rest of the team has to claw through each other to face the fully operational Death Star.

I’d say if their season ended today, Nebraska would keep him. The record is bad but they’ve had three big games they were 1 or 2 plays away from winning. That’s a big step forward.

But they still have to play OSU, PSU and Iowa. Which means they’re likely looking at 3 more losses and a 5-win season. By then the corn faithful will have given up on him.

I’m indifferent about Frost, but would like to see Nebraska become a consistent 8-4 or better team just so Wisky has some competition in their division.

Obviously, Iowa is good this year, but am they are having their typical “once every 4 years” season before coming back to earth for a few more years. Nebraska could be a good team on a steady basis.

Sure, would love to see the west division be more competitive but they can do it with a different coach.  No reason to root for frost, just hope he gets fired and that the west improves with coaches who have good sportsmanship.

I'll be honest, I like Nebraska football. I like that they stuck with the triple option for so long, and I like that they are bringing some of those concepts back in their current offense. I also like how those old concepts still work very well (only not against us, that sucked). I also like how they lost to us last night.

That being said, Frost is a bitch. I did feel bad for Martinez after the fact. There was no way we weren't giving up a TD on that drive if he didn't fumble the ball away.

Thanks for listening to my snowflake riff on Nebraska football. Anyway, here's Wonderwall...

Will we play them often enough for me to care?

I assume we're entering a streak of games against Nebraska, but we just haven't played them enough in the past for me to care about who is coaching them.

I don't dislike Frost or Nebraska.

That team played quite a motivated game.  They almost beat what looks like a very good MSU team.  They only lost by a little to vaunted Oklahoma, and held Oklahoma to 23 points.

Now that Frost has them going in the direction of being a team to take seriously, Nebraska would be foolish to fire him.

Nebraska could possibly beat Wisconsin and maybe even Iowa.  Those games are not guaranteed wins for Wisconsin or Iowa.

Agree completely. Considering the changes we know are coming to college football the BIG needs to be as strong as possible to thrive. The league will be more respected and successful if it has two strong divisions.
