This should be interesting. Per ESPN

He's 34-15 at Liberty, which was an FCS school until a year before he got there. I'd say that's pretty good. He was also 10-2 at Arkansas State. Yes, there was cheating at Ole Miss, but he still put teams on the field that were scoring a bunch of points and being a thorn in Alabama's side.

It's not like Auburn is in position to hire cream-of-the-crop coaches.

Liberty might have been an FCS school but they spent like an FBS program because of Falwell's involvement in trying to sportswash his school and its image a bit.  He had a decided talent and recruiting advantage against most of the teams they played as an independent.

And Ark St. was a good season but that happened over a decade ago.  He's mostly lived off a couple of years at Ole Miss where he beat Alabama with a no-longer-novel offensive approach and recruiting violations egregious enough that the NCAA actually punished him.

You can get the on-field success of Freeze from a dozen places without taking on the massive baggage that comes with the man.

It's pretty clear that his moral compass was righted by Falwell Jr. whilst employed by Liberty U.

/Reads up on Falwell Jr./

Update your cell phone contacts, Mr. Freeze.   Time to move the party down south again!

Geez swn...you're a spoilsport. I mean, a guy has escorts on speed dial on a university cell phone then lies about it. Forget any moral dimension, this is an intelligence shortcoming. I rooting for maximum entertainment value. Think the good ole money boyz on the Plains know what they're doing? Hah!

Oh, Hugh's got that too - Liberty's getting sued by women for allegedly burying sex assaults and Freeze slid into the DMs of one of the victims to complain. That happened this past summer!

And let's not forget the allegations that he forced girls to change in front of him at the high school he was at before he was at Ole Miss.

They must've been impressed with his final performance at Liberty against their feared arch rivals New Mexico State. Liberty was favored by 24 points, which is 4 scores, but ended up losing by 35, which happens to be 5 scores. A coach whose team plays 59 points worse than expectation against an opponent that had been 4-6 before the game started is exactly the kind of coach Auburn University deserves.

Ugh. Glad I am not an Auburn fan or alum. I would rather have literally anyone else who is still an active football coach. Freeze is amoral and a complete degenerate on every level.

How has Auburn fallen so low they're taking a guy who Ole Miss(!) fired for being too much of a creep.

Anyway, he's an awful person who apparently Christianwashed his MANY transgressions by being an okay coach at Liberty and now he's back in the SEC, where he'll likely go 8-4/7-5 for a couple of years and get ethered by Alabama and/or Georgia on the regular.
