How Did Milton Beat Out Mccaffrey?

First off, if you were one of those people who built a Milton statue after his first start, shame on you. JOK and Brandon Peters should have been just a couple of recent lessons that taught you otherwise.

For real though, how bad was McCaffrey that he lost to THIS GUY?

One thing about Harbaugh...he seems less planned and methodical and more impulsive.  I've always wondered about the Gattis hiring. From initial conversation to hiring in 24 hours? He'd never met the man. Did he think through the implications of speed and space? Was he committed? Or did he just drift back to the same old slow paced Manball thing?

And McCaffrey? I bet things were going smoothly for him to become the starter and then, kind of out of the blue, Harbaugh shows up and tells him he's out.

I hate to even wonder this, but I wonder if this Summer’s events had any impact on it.

Dylan was getting snaps last yr and well ahead of Milton, then suddenly he’s behind and gone? It’s strange.

He didn’t.

McCaffrey saw what this team was and decided it was in his best interest to bail during a year that didn’t count (Covid) so he could get an M degree, not get hurt, and can leave and have 2-3 years at another program that didn’t have their collective heads up their own asses.

Michigan is filled with 4* talent.  Guys MSU and Iowa and Wisconsin would have featured on ESPN.  But Michigan can’t motivate, can’t coach, can’t get players to get better and better each year they’re there

Be nice if our media could get insight into that question.  1-3 team, terrible offense, expected QB starter taking classes still, but not on the team.  Crickets.....

Forgive me that I don’t remember where, but I saw a rumor the coaches gave Milton the job because McCaffrey went back to Colorado due to Covid while Milton stuck around the area and worked out with Gardner. No idea if it’s valid or not but it sounds plausible based upon this coaching staff.

Go back to that diary of every snap from both of them. I said it was clear Dylan was better. A bunch of people clamored for Milton. Milton isn’t making reads right now. He decides where he’s going pre snap. His deep ball isn’t accurate enough to get away with it.

Another reason to fire the entire coaching staff.  That was Gattis call.  Dylan is on the team. Milton totally sucks.  Fire everyone and put Dylan in charge.

Lol.... interesting accuracy means more than arm strength. The kid who set passing records in high school looks slightly better than the kid who couldnt even complete 50% in high school

Well Jim Harbaugh told Herbstreit before the Minnesota game that Erik All was going to be the best TE in Michigan history, so that tells you a little something about his talent evaluation skills.

There HAS To be a story behind Milton beating out McCafferty right?   Something doesn’t pass the smell test here.    Unless it’s a case were Milton is a practice superstar, but when there’s an actual different team on the other side he clams up and panics

anybody seen or heard about this? Got this off of reddit

From what I’ve read through people who claim to have insider info on MGoBlog, DMC was ahead of Milton in camp and then got sick. He told coaches about being sick and Harbaugh tried to toughen him up and force DMC through workouts and practices for a few days while he was sick. DMC told his parents, they told DMC to take a day off so he did and coaches were mad and put Milton on top of the depth chart for good. DMCs dad had a conversation with Harbaugh about it and they basically agreed DMC would opt out, finish the semester and transfer out west. I’ve read Nebraska and Northern Colorado are presumed leaders for DMC.
