Honest Opinion - Chase Young

Submitted by FrankTigers2 on November 8th, 2019 at 5:59 PM

At first, I was giddy.   Star OSU player getting in trouble.  You were all probably excited

if it was a criminal case, screw him, screw anOSU.  Totally expected.

But seeing that it APPEARS TO BE a loan (or even a gift) given to an athlete that OSU, B1G and the NCAA routinely take advantage of, amassing huge profit, I say screw the NCAA.

And if they used the $ to pay for his parents to go to his game, then screw the NCAA again.

stupid NCAA rules...pay the f@cking kids!

and also screw anOSU

Really doesn't matter what our views are on paying players bottom line is as of now it is against the rules and it just seems odd that it's a close " family friend"  that happeed to become a family friend right before he left to go to Ohio State. Not a good look and these kids know better.

When you enter the NCAA Clearinghouse you take a "test" about right and wrongs. They know better. Bottom line is dude will get paid, he's a great player

The rules are the rules.  It wasn't a loan, that's a lie, it was money from an agent for future representation. He didn't use it to pay for his parents to attend the game, that's a lie, he also didn't pay it pack, that's a lie. Everything  O$U does is a lie.

This whole thing is completely scripted. OSU has known about this for a while. They waited until the Friday morning right before two punching bags in Rutgers and Maryland to have this come out.

Now they can spin this by suspending him for these two games and pressure the NCAA to get him back for PSU and Michigan because they "self reported" this infraction.

So what did we learn? Pay every recruit to come to Michigan. Then if that ever goes public just call that payer a friend of the family, suspend the player before two shitty opponents, then you're all good.  Nobody plays this game better than O$U.

Urban is sitting back with a scotch and cigar smiling right now.

My thoughts? It is wrong for Young to be punished if he borrowed money from a family friend to go to the Rose Bowl. However . . . if the friend is an NFLPA registered agent, yeah, that's a problem. I'm not fan of the NCAA and think their regulations are just crazy. The other thing is that OSU better hope this is the only violation. If people start digging and find other infractions and rules violations at OSU, they will be hammered.

By "they will be hammered" you are referring to the people who started digging and found other infractions, and I assume you mean it literally as in their skulls will be fractured with heavy tools wielded by OSU thugs. Because OSU football is untouchable in terms of NCAA infractions. Gene Smith would fire them all.

I will treat the Chase Young situation exactly how OSU fans would treat a theoretical Michigan player committing an NCAA violation.  Drop the fucking hammer on Chase Young, his agent "friend" and OSU.

Frank- You sound like osu fan boys that justify literally everything. He didn’t take a loan from a longtime family friend. He took money from someone who he only met once he was committed I osu. Once it came to light that someone knew about the money changing hands, he then somehow paid the money back.

Could be a Bosa move? Why risk injury in the last few college games when you are projected #1 pick in the draft? This is good exit strategy for him.

I thought it was stupid when Curtis Ennis got suspended for taking a suit from an agent 20 some years ago. This Chase Young situation is stupid too. The NIL rule changes can't come soon enough so these guys can start earning money on the side and don't have to resort to borrowing money from friends or agents. F the NCAA. I have no sympathy for (mostly) white men living large off of the cheap labor of (mostly) young, black men.

Borrowed $ so his family could get to the Rose Bowl was one story, but his attorney tweeted that is was for "basic living expenses" and went on to say how Terrible it is that these athletes live in poverty while others get wealthy off them..... Tugging at the heart strings.

If it smells dirty, it's dirty.

Would this board feel the same way if it was a Michigan player?  Probably not, but that may be because we don't have a history of this shit like they do.  Ask tressel & Pryor & company.

This situation is just another example of how OSU is a win at all costs football factory.  And people get upset and don’t understand why U-M can’t beat these pricks.  Isn’t it obvious?

Harbaugh actually has U-M back to the level it was before Hoke, RR, and even the later Carr years.  It’s OSU that has elevated their program to the next level through their shady practices and by consistently skirting the rules.

FACT: OSU is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to win and U-M is not.  It’s really that simple.

I’m not advocating that U-M cheats, but unless U-M gets in the muck with OSU, you can’t expect that the results on the field are ever going to change.  This isn’t a fairy tale.  Good isn’t going to somehow magically triumph over evil.

If you want to beat OSU, you need to start playing by the same rules as OSU. Otherwise you need to stop complaining about U-M’s new lot in life as a pretty good, but never elite football program.
