Ambry announced it on inside michigan football that he was returning no one ever posted about it lol..

Several other players did it too that we wouldn't have had to wait on their announcements either.

Was wondering how long this was gonna take to get posted. I was going to but the mods seem to never want to let me contribute to the board again lol

Don't feel bad, my thread based solely on talking Michigan Football was nuked (rather than Clemson basketball, Shaq and Barkley, NDSU apps, Cajuns nicknames, MSU WRs, and everything other than Michigan FB).

...I missed it, what happened? I came back to post this thread and it's gone. Ah well.

No. But that doesn't matter to everyone.

Not saying you...but some people lose perspective that others have different circumstances than they do.

Just like a game show where some people quit while they're ahead and take the money because they can't afford to lose it. Some guys just want to get drafted...they can't afford to wait another year, or they can't afford to risk injury trying to go from the 5th and 6th round to the 2nd round.

Some guys may HATE school. Or maybe they have a bad experience with something and the draft is a way to get away, maybe get help, or a way to move on (i.e. a relationship).

One thing that pains me every time I see it is people telling other people how to live their lives when they don't have all of the info. There's a life situation that I could give anyone that would justify Collins or Eubanks or Thomas leaving...just as much as you or anyone else could give reasons why DPJ or Ruiz should've stayed.

Anyway, glad he's back!

Jake Butt got hurt it was terrible but the statistics support that it’s actually a freak thing and if your not going to be drafted high the NFL doesn’t  guarantee contracts.  Might as well return to a premier academic institution with a proven position coach who has had success in the NFL.  His stock will only go up.  He has the athleticism but needs to work on his body to hold up to Profedional game’s physicality.

Jesus Christ.

What part about YOU. DON'T. KNOW. WHAT'S. BEST. FOR. HIM. do you not understand?!

Just be glad he's coming back.

I'm a little over sensitive to the issue because my best friend in college had some tough things happen in life while we were in school...things that could happen to any one of us including something that FEELS as simple as losing a girlfriend until it turns into a deep depression. Went from a 3.3 gpa to a 0.something the first semester of his senior year. Quit school because the girlfriend thing was the last straw and seeing her on campus was going to send him over the deep end.

If he could've left school after his junior year to go make millions. Even though he was and ended up being an incredible M.B.A student (after returning to school 1.5 years later)...I would have drove his ass to the combine.

Today he's a happy father, successful, regular guy...maybe even checks out MGoBlog from time to time. We were one night away from losing all of that.

So over the top and dramatic? Probably. But the point is...you have no fucking clue. Maybe there's a sick parent. Maybe the grades aren't where they need to be. Maybe there is a dependency and NFL money will provide an ability to get support.

These are all real life things. That happen to, yes, even football players.

Same when a kid transfers. Why would my friend leave school not even 1 year away from a degree and a very promising job? Answer. To save his fucking life.

Until we know someone's situation...we probably shouldn't worry about "what's best" - it's natural, and you're probably right. But you never know, so let's hope everyone has made the best decision for themselves and their families even though it doesn't always work out that way.

There is a lot of heartless, narcissistic  ignorance in the world...that's how. We each live in our own unique set of realities.

Ambry: Ambry is a difference-maker DB. I'm actually surprised he is returning...this is a huge positive for Michigan's 2020 defense-maybe a championship deal-maker. He will mitigate the opposition's best receiver. I expect Dax and Hawkins to play lights out at safety-a serious upgrade over Metellus. (Loved Metellus' effort but...) The rest of the young roster will step up and make this a great secondary. Overall, I will not be shocked if at the end of the 2020 season this defense will not be talked about as one of the best ever at Michigan. The talent is there...even on the DL.

Good news...he outplayed Hill this year In my opinion.  With a full healthy offseason He could get some All American run.  If Grey can take a step forward an be a 2020 Channing Stribling the Defense looks pretty solid.  I believe the young interior guys are going to take a big step forward too.

Wow, next season may be better than I first thought! I still think we need Dylan or Joe to be awesome to beat OSU in Columbus and win the B1G. But my thoughts are now 9-3  or 10-2 next season instead of 8-4.

Excellent!

I hoped that DPJ would stay, and I’m disappointed that Ruiz is going, but overall I’m encouraged by the attrition news so far this year. There’s still time for a shock transfer, of course, but the program appears to be internally healthy. A reason for some optimism for what takes the field next year.

There was something wrong in that WR room last year.  Seemed like guys were not all on the same page.  In particular, DPJ and Black did not seem happy.  Maybe too few targets as it did seem Nico and Bell were getting more good balls to make plays.

Too many drops, lapses in routes and periods of mediocre run blocking.  Guys were not all buying in ... looks like DPJ and Black felt it was time to move on.  In a way it is helpful, as the leadership in the room will be more natural in Nico and Bell with guys coming up - Jackson, Sainristril, CJ - all looking really good.  There were just too many mouths to feed in 2019.
