The guy gave so much this year. What a tough loss for him.

I feel for him. I'm awaiting a call from the U of M Trauma Orthopaedic team as we speak. I have a fully torn ACL, and a fracture in my tibia that has caused a pool of blood inside the bone.

Thanks man. It really is putting a damper on my plans to walk on to the team next year. I mean 42 year old, out of shape guys that have never played organized football make it all the time. A few have won Heisman Trophies. But this is the setback that will derail my dreams.

Dunno yet. I originally went to St. Joe's and saw Dr. Scheuller. He was a POS, and I wanted a second opinion. He told me I was old and not an athlete and probably couldn't handle the physical Therapy after the surgery. So I got a referral to U of M and called MedSport. But because of the fracture, I need to see the trauma surgeons, which are still reviewing my case.

I was speaking to his bedside manner, not his prognosis. He originally questioned my use of crutches, basically saying I was babying it. This was pre-MRI. After the MRI, he admonished me for putting any weight on it.

He also was a doctor for my wifes' coworker. She had similar complaints.

He also didn't believe me when I told him how I injured myself. I slipped on spilled water in my kitchen, and then stepped wrong in my yard. It's not like I told him I saved a fire from a bunch of orphans.

I remember once hearing a veteran nurse describe a surgeon this way: "If he wasn't an asshole he wouldn't have any personality at all."

Not that all surgeons fit that description. (The guy who yoinked my hot appendix almost 20 years ago was a prince.) Just sounds like you got the personality-deficient type.

Ouch.  Looks like he changed his mind on the pitch at the last second and tried to cut while in an awkward position.  Tough break for the kid.

As a former sufferer of a torn ACL I have become very good at spotting them as they happen. If the knee goes inward from the side its basically a done deal. Suspected it right away. I can’t stand Tennessee (historically) but really enjoyed watching Hooker play. Such a shame for him.

That’s terrible news and I felt genuinely bad for him and his team when he went down. Of course, we had a remarkably similar scare earlier the same day.

Reminds me just a bit of when Dennis Dixon tore his knee up, except that Oregon team hadn’t already lost a chance to win the title.

Watched that game and saw that happen live. Really a shame. The game was really already over at that point—South Carolina really put it together last night and destroyed Tennessee. Hopefully Hooker recovers quickly, and Milton can make the most of the opportunity. Oh, and I hope South Carolina can play like that again next Saturday at Clemson. Wow.

I'm definitely not alone here but I can't ever bring myself to be anything but very sad about players getting hurt. I don't care if it were OSU's best player a week before The Game or a guy on a team I just generally don't like in Tennessee. It's so fn sad when you know what kind of work they put in.

I saw so many OSU fans laughing about Corum yesterday and it made me sick. To be fair, also many that seemed sincerely upset. Again, I think all fanbases have a 10% psycho-freak factor so let's chalk it up to that.

Anyway, I dislike Tennessee in general but this is awful for him as he will probably lose another year as a rookie on top of stock falling a bit. Seeing as he's already older (25, iirc) that's very unfortunate.

Hope he heals up earlier than most and is good to go as a rookie in The NFL.

Hopefully Milton has a strong finale and bowl game which probably will be a NY6 and that should give him enough to come back for his Covid year as the starter
