Yes, Eric Swenson, he is currently projected to start at LT at OK in 2019.

I think that was more of a Drevno special with Harbaugh cleaning up afterward, and to be fair, getting DQ’d by Michigan May have been a wake up call.  The kid himself says that he is thankful the whole thing happened.

Nice, I like the way he moves.  Much better feet than his classmate Zinter, more of a pure OT prospect.  Lets hope he can keep that athletic ability after he puts on 50 lbs.

Whatever the Michigan team of coaches, recruiters, alumni, players, previous commits and students did last weekend - please remember the science and art of it, and repeat in the future...

What a great week!

Remember back when we missed out on seemingly every OT we recruited for a while there? Glad that’s over. Warinner’s getting his guys and doing work these last couple classes. The dude can close and you have got to love the depth we are building on the line.

I'm glad someone mentioned the depth...

Elite Michigan OLs of the past were talented *and* had good-to-great depth to absorb injuries.

It's taken a while to fix the imbalance created by Hoke's many misses (i.e. bullwhip effect for anyone that works in supply chain or operations) but we will finally have quality depth going forward starting in 2019.

We've longed for a soul-crushing OL which can road grade *and* stonewall defensive front 7s. I think this is the first year we'll truly have that in the Harbaugh era.

Seems like the bulk of the guys we are getting commitments from are 3* types with 4* offer lists.  I look at the offers over the recruiting grade for guys like this, so this kid looks legit.  Why are so many flying under the radar with the recruiting services though?

i have a new appreciation for how critical the camp circuit is to getting ranked.  now that i have seen it personally in action, and to combine that with what amounts to a social media marketing campaign that some/many players engage in, i see how easy it is for someone who's not pounding either of those two avenues to slip through the cracks to some greater or lesser degree.   not saying this kid was under-exposed in either regard as i have no idea, but i see now how easily it could happen to otherwise very talented kids.

Most of the guys we've been getting are highly ranked by 247, but not so much by the other services. Rivals is usually delayed on giving rankings to guys until they come to a camp then they catch up with 247. And when most of those guys are in the 350-550 range in the composite and they all have a generic 3* rating from Rivals, that usually seems like a recipe for them to shoot up into the 4* range of the composite

Sounds good in theory, but that's not the reality.  Not that it really matters, because I trust the coaches, but only Atteberry and Lewis are higher ranked by 247 than the composite.  In fact, Persi is ranked #412 by the composite and #539 by 247.

Why are so many flying under the radar with the recruiting services though?

ESPN recruiting is basically going out of business, and Rivals seems to only care about their camps so they're not doing much proactive ranking. 247 seems to be the only service that's doing more than a half assed job, and not coincidently, that's the service that ranks most of these Michigan commits the highest.

Again, that just isn't true.  Hibner is outside of 1,000 by both composite and 247.  Mohen is #442 in the composite and #651 by 247.  Eamonn Dennis is #483 composite and #505 by 247.  Garcia is unranked by both.

Of the current 15 commits listed in the class, only 3 of those commits are higher ranked by 247 than the composite.  Many of them are ranked significantly lower by 247.

looks pretty athletic and should be trending up given that hes new to the position.  nice addition.

strong OL and DL play (plus QB of course) and a team always has a chance
