Surprise Jim Harbaugh cares about Jim Harbaugh and his stupid little trophies.

I think the issue is that nobody in the NFL wants to work for Jim, surprise, so he's raiding Michigan. Or he doesn't want Michigan to be successful after he's gone which is every ex-coach. Or both.

Hey Jim? fuck off, leave Michigan alone.

If Jim Harbaugh goes 1-16 next year and gets fired I will be upset that he won a game.

This fan base and the main bloggers take that somehow the Harbaugh’s are going to continue working to benefit the Michigan coaching staff is absolutely laughable.  Jim is gone and he and John are not going to help Michigan any more by giving us talented coaches.  He already took the best DC Michigan has ever had and the best S&C coach.  Jay Harbaugh is also gone, a move that everyone agrees is not in his best long term interest.

Jim and John, and Mike are now the competition for coaches, make no mistake. Also, we are losing.

Honestly this is such a massive indictment against Warde. I knew the guy was a shit AD when Harbaugh interviewed with the Vikings post-2021. 2022 came and went and the same thing happened, and I was beside myself. I posted a thread here saying that we should be getting out the torches and pitchforks like we did with Brandon, and people here actually *defended* Warde and negged me. All I can say at this point is I'm eternally thankful to Harbaugh, the sole architect of the greatest 3 years in Michigan football history. I don't blame him for leaving town and bringing everyone he can with him, because it's clear that Warde is a born-on-third P.O.S. whose greatest aspiration is apparently becoming the next NCAA president. Michigan football is about to take a big step backwards. I like Sherrone, but the program is not going to sustain this level of success with Warde at the helm.

that would be...disappointing. gutting the entire D coaching tree will probably have a portal impact, especially after taking S&C coach. This is getting late in the cycle to get any proven replacements.

Clinkscale is already has the co-DC title and is getting paid ~$900k/year.

I guess Moore/Warde could stop the search and promote Clinkscale to lead DC + give him the extra 100-200k to bump him into 7-figures. Elston, I don’t know is a clear slam-dunk to be co-DC though, IIRC, Notre Dame/Marcus Freeman gave him a shot at coordinating, and chose to demote him back to DL line soon after.

i don't see the point of just throwing money at people to keep the staff together. at least not based on what the fans know. neither elston nor clink have been DCs and we at least have no idea whether they're worth that kind of money. maybe folks inside the program know they'd be great and in that case maybe it's worth the risk of elevating one or both. but paying both of them nearly a million bucks seems kind of bonkers to me.

Moore can't catch a break.

Really hard to build a staff this late and I'm just going to assume a bunch of guys will bolt once the spring portal window opens up.
