Guess The Score - A Win/Loss Will Cause Me To...

Submitted by XM - Mt 1822 on December 29th, 2021 at 9:01 PM

Mates,
A little surprised nobody has posted this, but how about a combined thread about Friday's game.   Will keep it quite simple:

1.  Guess the Score

2.  A Win will cause me to/A loss will cause me to...

Hopefully little or no work to be done by you tomorrow, some time off with family.   34 1/2 hours to kick off.

35-24 Michigan. 28-24 late, and Defense makes the play leading to the final TD. Tons of missed opportunities.

A win will make me drink a 12-pack of Shiner, watch the whole season all over again, eat the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom at Chuy's, and post a million irrelevant messages on this site.

A loss will make me drink a 12-pack of Shiner, rewatch the OSU game again on New Year's, eat shitty tacos from Jack In the Box, and have a bad case of diarrhea.

Jack in the Box tacos are tasty, but absolutely toxic. They affect the digestive track for a whole week. A person should never eat their tacos more than 2-3 times in a year to avoid health issues. Del Taco is quality food (relatively) and not much of a punishment for a loss. As a marine, I always called them Delta Co(mpany) instead, but I don't think that ever caught on anywhere else.

Didn't I hear that Jack in the Box just bought Del Taco, or was that just some of the franchises?

I ate both on occasion when I lived in California. The Sourdough Jack remains one of my favorite fast food burgers, and Del Taco's offerings were a nice change-up from Taco Bell. Its most pivotal moment in my family's life happened when I stopped to get food on the way to the hospital when my wife went into labor with our first child. I have, uh, been reminded of that from time to time. (But it was completely defensible! I hadn't eaten all day, her water had broken but contractions hadn't become regular, it was midnight, I needed to eat! Really, it wasn't bad!)

Georgia 28 Michigan 27.

Loss: Tell my OSU friends...ah well we beat the spread and bludgeoned your asses this year.

Win: Change out of my formal wear for the New Year's eve party, put on my new A2 hoodie and sing Hail to the Victors in front of everybody followed by a Marcus Hall double bird salute.

I'll guess 29-18 Georgia. I think it's gonna be a slog trying to score

Win will cause me to brace for another national championship game loss

Loss will cause me to sit back and appreciate the greatest season of Michigan football in my time as a fan and start thinking about next fall already

〽️ 42 - UGA 27

A win will cause me to spend more money to get to Indy.

A loss will cause me to be disappointed for a little bit, save some money, and get back to being productive.

M 17 - UGA 13

I'm pretty sure I'd be cool with a loss. I didn't expect Michigan to be in this game and would've laughed if you'd suggested it at the beginning of the season. I probably did, in fact. Beating OSU and winning the B1G is just fine this year. UGA also has the number 1 or 2 recruiting class every year, while Michigan is generally 2 or 3 in the B1G. I'm proud of what Michigan has accomplished regardless.

A win will have me screaming for muppets on MGoBlog.

Michigan 21, Georgia 20.

A win will cause me to . . . Immediately request January 11th off from work.

A loss will cause me to . . . Remember 42 to 27.

Win will cause me to: do crimes at the hard rock stadium and mock my uga friends.

loss will cause me to: in the moment probably be mad, but two days in advance I’m really zen about it.  Bo (who for all the obvious flaws remains the on-field measuring stick for modern Michigan) never won a natty.  Win the B1G and make the four team playoff was always the goal; this seems like extremely house money.

This post needs some responses that have some fucking balls.

35-14 Michigan

Win causes: a later than planned NYE celebration. Too much beer, wine, and other.  Wife pissed when she gets me up at 10 on New Years Day.

Loss causes:   Whatever.  Beat everyone next year.

Ballsy?  I am getting old.

Finally, someone with a good estimate.

I'm back from the future. Let me tell you how it went. They're happy to go up 3-0, thinking it's going to be a low scoring game. It will be. For them.

But great play calls and tempo, that keeps the big boy on the field and gassed, gets us to 14-3.

On the other side of the ball, pressure is bad enough to begin with, but disguised coverages are even more disruptive, inducing a forced throw out of desperation and the second first-half pick, this one for a TD. 21-3 at half.

Georgia gets talked up big at halftime and cuts it to 21-10. But a long, demoralizing drive for Michigan consists of 11 different kinds of runs, including a fool-hurdled and an Aidan Hutchinson fullback TD. 28-10.

At this point, their will is broken. Two more TDs gets us to the magic 42.

42-10 good guys.

I honestly have no idea what this will cause me to do. Probably just go to bed happy. I'm old.

I refuse to countenance a loss. And I'm kinda pissed at the many such predictions in the other comments.

UGA by a healthy margin, say 17pts. However, I think the damage will be done early or late in the game to look worse than it was. So let's say

UGA - 31

UM - 14

A win will cause me to be really, really happy and do what I have to do in order to go to the NCG.

A loss will cause me to be a bit bummed but overall very happy about a great season that I did not see coming. I feel like it's house money at this point but probably shouldn't because it breeds complacency and UM is absolutely capable of winning it all this year. UGA and Bama are definitely more talented but not as good as past years, IMO. They can be beat but of we can't beat them I won't freak out.

Since I'll be there.....a win will cause me to stay up all night celebrating -- I may not even make it back to my hotel, I know how these things go (I'll be with my husband, don't go there). A loss will cause me to be very bummed in the moment since I'll be there and will have to see all the jubilant fans on the other side. But once that passes, I'll be happy that we had such an awesome season and accomplished all our goals.

Score: 28-21 M.

As we are still ~46 hours to kickoff,  I'm curious as to OP's time-traveling abilities in submitting the initial post 34.5 hours prior to kickoff -

Such being the case, I suggest traveling forward a bit further and relaying CFB scores and Powerball numbers upon his return.

M 23, GA 20. Moody FTW in a field position slogfest.

Win will cause me to jump-chestbump more random people 11pm NYE to 1am NYD than I have in all prior life combined, and to feverishly check all the working parlays I have on multiple platforms...L will cause me to drink in silence reflecting on the year that was, 50/50 watching the ball drop vs passing out before.

I actually moved back to west Michigan summer 2020 (time to change my handle?) after 10 years in Houston post-grad school.  Went to the Big House for 3 games this year - my first home games in a decade (went to a few bowl games, Florida in JerrahWorld, etc).  Michigan doesn't lose when I'm at the game.

From the front row near the student section for Western to the last snap against Iowa, I never missed a live snap, whether live, on TV at home, watch parties, or in Vegas for my birthday - against Indiana, the day I called Purdon't to upset sharty and hit an 18-leg.

It's truly been a magical year. Maybe I'll hit up the Chop House in GR to celebrate should the Victors Valiant prevail.

I know!  After Washington and Ohio State this year, Florida in Texas, Florida Citrus Bowl 2016, etc, you'd think I'd have to go, but: 1.) Can't get off work; 2.) Crew I'd go with can't get off either; 3.) Tix prices ridiculous until the last few days; 4.) South Beach hotel prices on NYE; 5.) Miami flight tix...just too much to swing.

Full disclosure - I was at an L - 2008 Juice Williams ran all over Michigan, but I disclaim any responsibility during the Rich Rod era

Win = Party like it’s 1998 and be at the game again for the second shot at a national championship in my lifetime.

Loss = Party like an undergrad (‘88 - ‘92) when conference championships were a given. It’s been a long time and it’s worth enjoying from now until September.

27-23 Michigan. We trail in the 4th but lead a drive to take the lead and our pass rush gets home on UGA’s final drive.

A win will have me tell my 30 week pregnant wife that she can’t have the baby in Miami and can’t have the baby before the 10th.

A loss will bum me out big time but I am relatively confident we win the game. Most likely outcome in my mind is that we win in the semis (like we always do in basketball) but Bama is too much and we look back on this season as B1G East Champs, B1G Champs, Orange Bowl Champs, and national runner-up. And then for the latest time in recent memory I start to be full-on basketball focused.

Georgia is tough, however, have you been watching the SEC getting pushed around?  0-4 and -- most likely -- 1-5 after tomorrow.  We might not win, however, we will hang with them no matter what.  24-20 Michigan!!

Michigan 27, Georgia 21.

A win will cause me to drink to excess.

A loss will cause me to drink to excess while watching replays of Michigan wins over Ohio State on youtube.

UM 28

A win would cause me to drink in celebration. A loss would cause me to drink my troubles away

Was informed by work yesterday that I need to work late on NYE even though it is a company holiday. Year end and being an accountant and shit. Last straw for me as I will find a new job in 2022. Assholes.

28-12 Michigan. Georgia scores two field goals. Gets a TD in the 4th and goes for 2 and misses it. Michigan runs the clock rest of the way with 8 minute all run plays and scores a TD in the final minute. We score a TD off of STs which turns out to be back breaker in the 3rd.

Win or lose, I am happy. Great season. At least we won't be embarrassed like other lucky B1G teams who made it to CFP. Michigan should win though.

Harbaugh-Saban finals will be a classic. Make it happen Harbaugh.

Michigan 31 - Georgia 17

A will cause me to get extremely drunk and lose my shit that we’re headed to a National Championship, leaving me with a brutal hangover.

A loss will cause me to be disappointed but thankful for a great season where Michigan took a huge step and proved a lot of naysayers wrong. I’ll end up less drunk and with less of if any hangover which will be less fun.
