I think this will be closer than Rutgers. Which is not to say this will be going down to the wire: 28-6

Michigan 24, Illinois 3.
Somebody on offense fucks up and the Illini get a field goal.

If Shea plays every offensive snap:
4 - 0
If they let Dwumfour play QB with both hands in casts:
63 - 0

I don't trust our offense. I think our D scores a TD and special teams puts is in the red zone once.

I don't know what the score will be, but Illinois has given up over 300 yards rushing to the only two half way decent teams they've played, Nebraska and Minnesota. And they gave up over 300 yards passing to Nebraska besides the over 300 rushing. Illinois' defense is terrible.
Nico Collins has to start getting a lot of targets. I am well beyond tired of him being used so little. He is used as a decoy for Ronnie Bell and other things too much.
But hey, since Illinois' run defense is so bad, it's a great opportunity for Josh Gattis to start doing lots of fake hand offs to the RBs so they can be used as decoys too, to get even more throws to the 2nd string WR Ronnie Bell. (and I'm not meaning anything personal against Ronnie Bell, but I am meaning something about how little our superstar WRs are being used)
I think I see how this "Speed in Space" things work, i.e., use your strengths as a decoy, and throw the ball to who you think the defense wouldn't think you'd throw it too, i.e., the 2nd string WR on the field.
Those silly defenders think the great WRs Collins and DPJ are gong to get the ball all the time. The fools that they are!

38 to 6, the offense looks good but is it's probably just that Illinois sucks.

Was going to post but didn’t feel it was thread worthy. It’s easy to get caught up in how bad the offense has been. But then today for the first time all season I used rationale. We lost the driving force of our offense in Higdon. The offense really didn’t get going last year either until he started to ascend. None of our backs have that big play capability like he did running up the middle. Especially early helping us assert ourselves at the line of scrimmage. Patterson has been terrible, but that’s easy when no threat of a run game. Gattis needs to play to his RB’s skills. Christian Turner has Deandre Swift like ability in space, use him more in the receiving game. And seriously disappointed in Jim Mcelwain. I don’t know what he’s teaching our WR’s but it sure as hell ain’t how to block on run plays. Big improvements coming this week, Harbaugh knows this is the last preparation game. Gattis’ offense better score over 40 or Jedd Fisch will have his office cleaned out before the team is back in Ann Arbor. Defense gives up garbage time TD. 41-10 Us

I think Shea finally has a good game and the offense works. M 38 - 9 at the half, then Wilton drives the offense for two more scores in the 2nd half. M 52 - IL 19.
