Game thread: Michigan at Illinois - Men’s Hoops - 7:00 pm EST on ESPN

Submitted by Amazinblu on March 2nd, 2023 at 6:13 PM

Michigan travels to Champaign to face the Illini.  The broadcast begins at 7:00 pm EST on ESPN.

Though Purdue leads the conference standings by two games, the race for second is tight.  Our Wolverines are in second place in the conference with an 11-7 record,  a half game ahead of seven other teams who have 8 losses.

A lot of comments in different threads.   It’s as close to a “must win” as there is, if the team hopes to Dance in a couple of weeks.

Rumor has it that Jett will be in the lineup tonight…

Juwan Howard’s teams can’t beat Illinois for this reason. Underwood’s team always play on fire. Michigan can’t keep up.

Well this offensive drought should finally quell the screeching about playing Reed as the 4 full time. The spacing is awful, they can’t run the depth of sets they need to stress the defense, and Dickinson cannot play as the 4 on offense.

I like Reed, and he’s gonna be a monster, but he’s been eating against some true 4s. He is overmatched against Dainja tonight.

That dunk was entirely on jet. He turned his back and his guy just ran right for the basket. He was almost at the three point line wondering what was going on.
