Game thread: Mens Hoops - Michigan at Indiana - 4:30 pm EST tip
The mens hoops team wraps up their regular season at Indiana, broadcast on CBS with an approximately 4:30 pm EST tip-off.
It’s as close to a “must win” as possible, with other action - both inside the B1G and other conference’s play - influencing which teams are in, almost in, on the bubble, last four in, first four out, etc…
Assembly Hall has a lot of history between the Maize & Blue and the Hoosiers.
Hoping for solid play and a win.
Go Blue!
I jinxed us... my bad
tune in later for tomorrow's stock pics
TSLA? BBBY? GME?
I can't believe we chose dodge ball as a way to end a game in OT.
You all are shit fans. youngest team in the big battled against q1 opponents on their senior nights, back to back OTs and just fell short. It happens, but fuck you all want to fire everyone.
I think they’re done without winning the BIG, but honestly why couldn’t they?
Yes they are young, and the guards will be better next year. That's not and excuse to lose almost all your close games constantly throughout the season. You need to show improvement in that area. They choked away Wisconsin too but we got lucky with the Hunter 3.
Literally 2 games in a row they're up about 7 with a minute or 2 left and they choked both of those. Young teams have those moments. Young teams should learn and not have the same moment constantly against any good team they play always end the same way.
Have you seen how they finish games? Oh yeah, I’m sure they’ll put it together and win 4 straight close games all of a sudden.
I agree, shit fans
the team played hard the last few weeks
So close yet so far, shouldn’t be surprised though, this is the type of season we’ve had. Not going to get my hopes up for a big BTT run, that would require multiple end of game close outs, we can’t even get one!
Bring back Beilein, Juwan is trash. Most fitting way to end the season with a pass to Hunter's butt at the buzzer.
Beilein will turn 71 years old during next season.
Crappy finish. Kobe just needed to heave a prayer that probably wouldn't have gone in anyway. We made our bed by not getting any points in the first half of OT and going down 7. Up 7 down the stretch in regulation and we couldn't finish. Again. This is a team that loses focus for stretches in a game and you can't do that against quality competition.
I don't know man, this is just disappointing. If we don't get two wins in the BTT it is definitely NIT time.
I wonder if this team will even do well in the NIT.
We just lost in OT on the road at one of the hardest places to play. A missed buzzer beater three from finishing 2nd in the conference. I'm definitely not jumping off the cliff like a lot of people seem to be.
I beg to differ, Michiqan has choked away so many end of games this year and its the coaching,...this is NOT a well coached team
I'll trade those dozen moral victories this year for a real win. Those seem to count more.
The staff never put kids in these situations in practice it’s very clear. There was no need to call TO in end of regulation. Kids should know exactly what play they are running and have done it a million times the last 4 months.
Thanks RobM I agree. Also screw the big ten for scheduling n 2 road games to close out the season and make them 3 days apart.
Same thing over and over with this team. Try winning a close game and one that you are up big late for that matter. I'm not gonna celebrate losing to Indiana on road when winning by 9 late. Are you watching the same thing the rest of us are?
Dumbass comment
People lets face it Juwan Howard is NOT a Xs and Os coach at times he really seems clueless I miss John Belein,,Juwan is a good guy but a bad coach
He appears to be a good guy most of the time.
The players are clueless in late game situations because the head coach is clueless in late game situations.
Just tuned in. Did I miss anything?
DAMN!
If they could get Dug to score a lot and be a threat then the entire script changes. Teams would have to worry about it and opens up everything else. He keeps getting swatted. The thing is, he isn't THAT short.
He is.
What’s the opposite of muppets?
NIT muppets.
CHOKETTS
Kobe doesn’t want the last shot, period. Very evident from the view he had. He literally threw it to someone not looking for the pass and was also surrounded by 3 IU players. To me, that’s worse than a Baker airball. At least Joey took the shot.
Same story all year minus a couple of games... can't close out / win close games. Illinois multiple tries all flat. Indiana multiple possessions that could end it and nothing. Idk what they were trying to run with 13 seconds left. So many people on here continuously bagged on Dickinson, but if he leaves I don't see who makes up all that production. Certainly Reed will do some, but will he become a 20 pt a night kind of guy?
Excited for Dug and Buffkin. They developed and were better as the year went on. Jett is nowhere near ready for the NBA and part of me thinks we were better without him at the end.
I hope we can make a run in the BTT, but I have a feeling the frustrating season will continue on.
We'd have to make a three game run.
Jett is beyond ready for the NBA, and after watching another stellar performance by the young fella, I CANT WAIT to see him there.....or in the nbdl, cba, jcc on a saturday afternoon- wherever
Woulda, coulda, shoulda been one of the best wins of season. One more free throw. Played hard at Assembly. Tough place to win.
Double post.
Michigan had like a 4 game winning streak there coming into today.
Michigan lost at Indiana in 2021, and we beat them there last year. Indiana is 15 & 2 this year at Assembly Hall and has won over 82 % of their games there historically. Assembly Hall is a tough place to win on the road.
Snake bit.
When a team loses so many close games — the Wisconsin game was a fluke on a busted but lucky play — it’s on the coach.
100%. A close loss here/there is circumstance. Close losses every damned time out...nope
I didn’t watch the game. …but how many OT games have we had this year? Hope we can keep Jett and Kobe and Hunter.
At least 3. We accomplished the IOT trifecta by losing to Illinois, Iowa and Indiana in OT.
can we please have some kind of non-life threatening plane trouble that requires us to wear practice jerseys for the big tourney?
we are officially in survive and advance mode now
Inability to execute late game after game after game with exception of Wisconsin. It is just plain old weak coaching down the stretch - no other explanations. I'm tired of thinking of scenarios of how this team makes it when they continue to lose games they should win. They don't belong in the tournament. Season ended for me today.
Iowa beat them at home by 22 four days ago. Indiana is not a good team
