Friday POSBANG

It's November. We're 10-0, and favored to enter The Game undefeated. We are a legitimate contender for the College Football Playoff (sham that it is). We are boa constrictor. We are drowning ferrets.

Bang me.

I'm down. On vacation tomorrow so Thursday is my Friday. Going to Chicago to celebrate girlfriend's birthday so I'll be super cheerful but respectful to all the Illini faithful we come across since they are Chicago's B1G team.

darkstar,

I have lived in Chicago for a while - and, your GF's birthday is a great reason to visit.

You probably have put together a list of things to do - but, if you're looking for suggestions - please let me know.

I think there's a bit of a rivalry between Northwestern and Illinois regarding which "B1G team" is really "Chicago's B1G team".

(If you like the Blues, I suggest you check out "Buddy Guy's Legends", it's in the South Loop.  If the weather is clear - having a drink at the 95th Lounge in the Hancock building - as you watch the sunset, offers a great view of the city.  The Art Institute of Chicago has a great Impressionism collection.  There are great restaurants all over the city - but, the Fulton Market area / West Randolph has a number of very good options.  It's going to be chilly - so, make sure you have the correct gear.)

Thanks. She moved to MI with me almost a year ago after 26 years in the Chicago area (downtown, east then SE suburbs). So she is very familiar with what to do and made up the itinerary so I'm just along for the ride. Might suggest the Hancock though as we're staying downtown.
Christmas kick-off stuff tomorrow I guess, dinner & Alan Walker concert (see my avatar for how I feel about that show), brunch on Sunday. Somehow I gotta fit in a "oh while we're here let's check out the UM-IL game for a little bit to see how it's going". She hates sports but is good about indulging one of the only teams I really care about.
