Ignore Wall Street's lukewarm reception to J&J's vaccine news (LINK), it's great news.
Definitely reason for a bang.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:41 AM ^
Yes, it's absolutely great news. +1.
EUA application likely next week.
Approval likely by the end of the week of February 22 (given previous timelines).
First shots in arm for this vaccine likely before the calendar turns to March.
Less complex supply-chain versus other vaccines.
100M doses - which is 100M FULL vaccinations for a 1-shot regime --- likely distributed across America by May.
NovaVax also had positive results on their vaccine released Thursday.

Let's put it this way: just got dramatically more likely that kickoff against WMU on Sept 4th will be in front of more than just cardboard cutouts. Maybe not 100% full but a lot closer to 112k than 112.

I honestly believe that will be the loudest the stadium has been in years when we get to get back in the stadium; even if it is half full. There's a lot of pent up energy that needs to get out....and I can't wait.
January 29th, 2021 at 2:03 PM ^
Yep. I'm optimistic it will be that way in stadiums across the country on Labor Day weekend - particularly in the North (stadiums were more open in 2020 in the South).

Without a doubt, good news. Another weapon in the war against covid.
I'm POSBANGING that I got my second negative covid test result by email late last night. I unknowingly was exposed on my ice fishing weekend 13 days ago to someone who was sick with covid thru the holidays, someone who shouldn't have been there < one week after being cleared by just one negative test. My brother and a couple of my cousins have now gotten confirmation that we didn't catch the virus, my cousins especially were concerned because they help their sister with their 88-year old mom.
Now I know that besides not catching very many ?, I caught no covid.

January 29th, 2021 at 10:03 AM ^
Everyone has a price... it just might not be something reasonable. (And some people have a negative price.)
January 29th, 2021 at 10:30 AM ^
Everyone has a price Magnus
January 29th, 2021 at 7:43 PM ^
Forget Magnus and make me an offer. Have to be gentle, though, as I had a knee replacement yesterday

I work enough overtime that Friday doesn't often mean what it does to other people, but all the same, it serves as a nice indication that the week is concluding.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:07 AM ^
Edit: Jump-roping bears gone. Dancing boy activated.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:40 AM ^
And to you. Skip loves the bears and speaking of: First polar bear cubs since 2004 born and raised since November at Detroit Zoo

Not a Debbie Downer at all. Thanks for bringing attention to this. I think people who torture animals like this should have to face that same torture three-fold.

Finally getting our youngest (a girl) to get the heck out of mom and dad's bedroom and start sleeping in her room starting today. She's our only girl and our last so we've indulged her, but she's got to go. Bang bang!
January 29th, 2021 at 11:22 AM ^
Congrats on the sex in advance.
January 29th, 2021 at 11:39 AM ^

Hopefully your evening starts like this....
and hope Mrs. MGoHillBilly looks like Jessica Alba!
January 29th, 2021 at 12:34 PM ^
While I look a lot like my dad, my wife favors my mom's side of the family.
January 29th, 2021 at 12:45 PM ^
Roar!!!
January 29th, 2021 at 12:34 PM ^

My family got a new dog yesterday so my not even one year old yet puppy has a play buddy! Now I have to figure out how to get the new one to stop chasing my cats. Bang bang!
January 29th, 2021 at 10:50 AM ^
While shooting him should stop him from chasing the cats, it's not recommended. Bang Bang!
January 29th, 2021 at 10:21 AM ^
I will be drinking later, and if any banging occurs I will do a happy dance, but probably not as good as this guy.
So bang me. Go Blue, you filthy animals!
January 29th, 2021 at 10:21 AM ^
Rather be here than working. Happy Friday everyone.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:49 AM ^
I'd rather be watching this than not...
January 29th, 2021 at 10:22 AM ^
No UM basketball or NFL football to watch so might as well get banging!!
Have a great weekend everyone ?

I expected an amazing gif from you Vladimir, are you hung over?
January 29th, 2021 at 10:31 AM ^
Bang bitches!
A bittersweet day, sadly. A guy I was pretty good friends with at work died yesterday of a heart attack, only 56 years old. He was a music buff - had more knowledge than I do - and was a massive UM fan - nice to have down here in SEC country - so we bonded over those two things. He was one of those guys who would give you the shirt off his back without even thinking about it if you needed it. I'm going to miss you Rob.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:46 AM ^
That's young. My neighbor's son was only 52 and died of a massive heart attack while out running. He was a health nut and thin as a rail, and ran in a lot of 10 K and half Marathons. It makes you nervous as you age through your 50s.
January 29th, 2021 at 9:11 PM ^
Brings to memory Jim Fixx. A lot of idiots found his death an opportunity to gloat.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:47 AM ^
I feel your pain man. I was friends with Sekou Smith when we were growing up. Sent my nephew a video note for his birthday in November. One of the nicest guys in the world. And he was another solid UM fan. This week kinda f'ing sucks.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:31 AM ^
Still feeling positive about how Sparty got banged by Rutgers last night. What a remarkable performance.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:32 AM ^
My daughter is hoping to hear good news from admissions later today. Proud papa whatever the outcome but also hoping for good news.
January 29th, 2021 at 10:37 AM ^
Good luck, Blue in NC. Know this is a big moment...
January 29th, 2021 at 10:45 AM ^
Many thanks. Wish I was still in state, that lower tuition sure would be nice. Even so, it would be great to have yet another reason to go back and visit A2 often.
January 29th, 2021 at 3:12 PM ^
I was psyched when my youngest received his Michigan acceptance letter. Oh boy, reasons to go to Ann Arbor: at least 2 home games in the fall, wander around the campus, wax nostalgic, be that old creepy guy at Rick's...
Then youngest said, "Dad, I would rather go to William & Mary".
Fuck.
