Friday Night Games Sickos Thread

Submitted by 1VaBlue1 on October 13th, 2023 at 8:11 PM

Three games to choose from:

  1. (ESPN) Tulane at Memphis - I've only seen commercials so far...
  2. (CBS Sports Network) Fresno St at Utah St - (NT)FSU used to be ranked, until Wyoming got them last week.  Utah St is 3-3...
  3. (ESPN2) Georgia high school football!!!  #6 Buford at Mill Creek - both teams are 6-0 and its currently tied at 10.  Buford has Michigan commit Montez Walker.

(Meta: Is it me, or is the board super duper slow tonight?)

Sanders is really showing his inexperience as a coach tonight. This game has been horribly managed by the Colorado staff.

WHAT A CATCH!!!  That trumped Roman's helmet catch a couple weeks ago!  That kid needs to transfer to Michigan - he'd put that WR room over the top...

This is why you don't go for it on 4th down on your own side of the field up 29. The entire game changed on that decision.

Hahahahahahaha sorry prime nuthuggers, but it is an incredible failure as a coach to allow the greatest comeback in program history to the 118th offense in football. Advanced metrics have Stanford ranked 100+. Insanely embarrassing loss at home.

I don't disagree, but I do find it tiresome getting labeled constantly for any form of criticism. I even said if Colorado reached the threshold I would change my opinion. 4 wins is obviously an improvement, but a lot seems to hinge on Shedeur being pretty good and Hunter being a beast (he's clearly being overplayed at this point IMO).

I still have them only winning 5 games this season and missing a bowl. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose out. 18 penalties is a serious issue.

No question. I agree with you. They win or lose based on how Shadeur plays. It’s obviously a team with a ton of work and growth to do. A loss like this will go a long to help with that. I actually appreciated your prior comment about the dislike being about the media and not about Sanders personally. I can get on board with that - the media is insufferable. But as a fan, I’ve enjoyed the story and will continue to the rest of this season and beyond. The nice part of Colorado not being my team (we’re on a Michigan site, after all) is that I won’t lose any sleep about them losing that game because it was awesome to watch that Stanford kid ball out. I do think they’ll get to seven, but even if they don’t I’ll still watch and not regret it (and admit if I’m wrong).

I appreciate and respect your comment as well. I find it sad people attack your character just for having what is apparently an unpopular opinion. There was a thread on Sanders on here when he became the coach where I said it was interesting and didn't have much of an opinion.

If you ever rewatch just listen to how often they refer to "coach Prime". They should be focusing on the team. I see deion every commercial break of every game. Finding that annoying doesn't make me evil. He could end up being a good coach, he could end up being a bad coach, but criticism shouldn't result in racist accusations.

When the coach makes everything about himself, it isn’t as though portraying that in the media should be frowned upon. You act like Sanders didn’t come in flashy as shit, essentially kicking half the team to the curb. Even his comments after getting his ass kicked are extremely arrogant. Usually a coach that gets stomped 42-6 (and let’s face it, Oregon could have dropped 80 on them) and outgained by 300 yards would show a little humility. What did Sanders do? Puff his chest out about the future because “this is the worst we’ll be.” Well sir, that wasn’t true because you just blew a 29 point lead to one of the worst teams in the nation. And somehow that’s the media’s fault for highlighting the coach? This team talks a lot of shit, flashing expensive watches after beating 1-4 teams. They are entirely mediocre but act like they are world beaters. I wonder where they get it?

I have - and I have watched all of their games except for last week’s (don’t get PAC-12 Network). I think they could win any of those games except for WSU, honestly. Even Utah, especially if Cam Rising doesn’t end up playing this year. They’ll win two games in there somewhere. Third will come in the bowl game.

I don’t know why you keep mentioning that you’ve watched all their games. Everyone has watched all their games. ESPN can’t stop showing their games and highlights because they are media darlings. You didn’t even answer the question. Where are the 2 wins? Arizona and? What about them struggling against shitty teams makes you think they will win 2 more games, one of them having to come against a ranked opponent with 3 out of the 5 in the road? They have yet to beat a team with a winning record and now they are going to do it twice, once against s ranked team?
