Friday "8 Days to College Ball but High School Ball has started" Posbang

Mates,

We are 8 days away from the Wolverines first game, but high school ball has started.  A number on this board are parents of and/or high school coaches of kids who started playing real games this week.  It gets tough to think of much else besides football at this time of the year, especially if you have a 'real' job to tend to.

It's not quite Football Eve, but you can see it from here.   It's Friday.  Let's have a community banging, it's just about time to knock some people over!

Nebraska should be banned from week zero. Having them play week zero is like taking a starving person and feeding them McDonald's. Sure, it's food, and you even have find memories of enjoying it when you were a child, but it's really awful and you feel terrible consuming it.

My boys are both playing high school soccer for my alma mater this year - they work hard and I am proud of them!  It’s been 1,000 days since we last lost to osu in football.  And - it’s Friday!

Let's hear it for HS football, the bedrock of the sport, the feeder of talent, and the only level of play I was ever qualified for.  Yay team! and go Blue.

Thanks for the reminder, XM.

It was a beautiful evening, sitting in the stands cheering my son on.....

Its FOOTBALL season and the emotional rollercoaster was in full mode even before the first quarter ended.....

Man I just LOVE this sport....

Can't wait for Michigan to take the field and start their march to a back to back BIG TEN(+) Championship

My local team, the school from where I retired, won as usual, although I only was able to make it to the game shortly before the running clock started. (It was my wife's wedding anniversary, and since there are likely not to be many more of those, I thought she should enjoy our dinner together.) Our highly ranked archrival got upset, and next week's highly ranked opponent also struggled, but pulled out a win. So that was all good. I find myself constantly checking this site to see if there is more new content, so I must be getting excited for college football, too. Also, my pro fantasy football draft is this weekend, so there's a third level of football excitement. Whoo-eee I love this time of year! So bangworthy!

We've had high school football for a couple of weeks now down here in Tennessee.  Heading to the field early tonight to help set the field up for the Varsity game.  I asked my son if he wanted to help as he's on the freshman team, but he said it seems like the parents job and he wants to head to the game with his team-mates.  Most of my friends in the neighborhood are heading to the game tonight as well, really like that I live in the kind of community where the Friday night football game is still kind of a big deal.
