This team is such a disappointment with a lot of talent.   3-6 unacceptable.   Time to make a change get new blood.

mGrowOld...that made me chuckle out loud.

I just cannot get into women's basketball.   I find it to be the absolutely worst translation of a sport to a women's sport.  Women's volleyball is amazing.  Women's soccer is tremendous.  Softball is super entertaining.  Women's golf can be even fun.  But Women's basketball, even at the highest level, just looks...poor.

Yup and you know why?  Because it's played almost entirely below the rim.

I have always maintained (and gotten ripped by the PC crowd for saying it) that an elite 9th grade boys BB team could beat any girls BB team, HS, college or pro.

By 9th grade really good men BB players are dunking-its still a sports center highlight when any woman in any league can do it.

I've never understood why women don't play with a shorter rim.

They're smaller than dudes, so they use a smaller ball.  But they still play with a 10' rim.  Why?

And I like that you mentioned women's volleyball, which is great to watch... because they play with a net that's 6.5 inches shorter than a men's net.

I think women's volleyball is better because the reduction in power means for better defense, better rallies. I've watched men's college volleyball and the guys can hit the ball so hard that it makes it hard to get any kind of rally going. The high levels of D1 women's volleyball are really fun to watch and definitely my favorite women's sport to watch along with softball

Learn to how to speak in complete sentences before calling for people to be fired please.

I know it’s hard for you because you’ve been doing this for years, but please.

just a week ago you were babbling incoherently about the team DURING the game and what happened? They turned the game around and beat OSU.

Since everyone is being a "dick" towards each other .....

Most be my turn to be "that guy". Grammar is the spoken language. In written form,it becomes "written English".

grammar (noun): the structure and system of a spoken language, or of languages in general, usual.ly considered to consist of syntax and morphology .

I'm happy to be corrected (honestly), but I don't follow your distinction.

The word "grammar" typically denotes the structure of a language, and doesn't distinguish between speaking and writing.  Etymologically, the word "grammar" literally comes from the Greek "to write."

It's strange that the definition that you provide is exactly the same as the google definition--except that the google definition does not contain the word "spoken."  Regardless, while grammar does apply to a spoken language--how could it not?--it doesn't apply to it exclusively as spoken.

It is the case that, more colloquially, people often include spelling and punctuation under the term "grammar," and that's a looser application of the term, but as far as I know the term applies to the structural features of a language, whether in written or spoken form.  Again, I'm happy to learn something new.

I never really thought she was that good of a coach. She is a good recruiter but cant coach. She is the Tom Crean of womens basketball. With the talent she brings in, we definitely should have more than one ncaa appearance since 2013.

administrations of the past neglected the program, hired duds that were hated by their players and then stuck with them until they burned the entire program down.

I could write an entire diary about it because there is a lot to tell, but basically every women's sport at Michigan has found *that coach* that is the face of the program and has built their respective program up into a championship-level program.

Softball has Hutch, W Gymnastics has Bev Plocki, W Swim & Dive had Jim Richardson, W Track has James Henry, W Cross Country has Mike McGuire, Volleyball has the Rosens (haven't won a B1G title yet but have a Final 4), Field Hockey has Marcia Pankratz, W Tennis has Ronni Bernstein.

Every sport but two here. WBB and W Golf.

If you go back and look at W Gymnastics, Field Hockey & Volleyball in particular prior to the 3 coaches I named above being hired, the history is very ugly and full of losses. Very similar to WBB's.

WBB just hasn't had that long term coach that builds it up. KBA is Michigan's winningest coach all-time and it didn't take her very long to do it.

To WD's point, KBA just feels like the WBB equivalent of Tommy Amaker, i.e. the 'coach before the coach'. Good enough to stabilize the program, but probably not gonna get you over the top. I could be wrong tho, and I think KBA should get some more to time to find out.

Borseth wasn't a "dud", though perhaps not the right person for the Michigan job.  He has won 664 games. He had a winning record at Michigan.  He's gone 175-40 since he left with 5 NCAA appearances in 6 years, albeit not in the B10.

I believe a solid argument could be made the Sue Guevera is a better Xs and Os coach as well, and killing it at CMU.

Arico's teams really do have an in-game Amaker feel to them. Plus Arico is 4-12 against MSU without a single win against State in the B10 tourney.  Arico's record is worth discussion.

If you read below I said the burner should be turned on if we miss the tournament.

The duds I were referring to were Trish Roberts who had a........5-63(!!!!!) B1G record. Think about that for a moment. As well as Cheryl Burnett who had a 10-54 B1G record and named a true freshman as a team captain. That alone says a lot.

Stop measuring this program against MSU. There is no comparison right now, and there wasn't any when Borseth was here because he never even beat them.

You're working too hard at this.  So you get to skip Borseth to make your comparison.  How convenient.  And I will always compare how we are doing vis-a-vis MSU and you should too.  MSU ain't UConn or even ND---plus it has been top 20 only once in the past 5 years.  My Gawd your bar is low.
