A few new football jersey numbers
The M-Den is now selling jerseys of current student athletes and a few newcomers have apparently chosen their numbers and two veteran players have taken a coveted single digit.
Brad Hawkins-2
Mike Sainristil-5
Ja'Den McBurrows-1
Tyler Mclaurin-27
Kechaun Bennett-52
Dominick Giudice-56
Louis Hansen-81
Tommy Doman-19
The rest of the numbers should be in the next phonebook.
If you take the plunge and buy one of these, I hope your jersey doesn't become obselete due to transfer or a number change.
Let's wish Jim comes to his senses and ditches the gimmick font and returns it to our old font, the same one our rival uses.
I've made this point before, but Nike has apparently become very paranoid of imitation products and seemingly has the philosophy of forgoing the standard block font (which looks aesthetically perfect) for a goofy font whenever a school or team will agree to it (see the new Cleveland Browns numbers that are blocky at the bottom and round at the top with only one serif on the number 7). I'm with you on that, though.
The font is the one that matches the old Bulls numbers, since we are a Jordan school. And only the 2,4 and 5 are different.
Well sure that's the justification for us. But look around at other Nike schools such as MSU, LSU, Georgia, Florida, and even Oklahoma. Those schools pretty much used to have the same font that Bama still rolls with but the Knights of Phil in Oregon have tweaked every one of them over the last several years. It's to make it harder to buy bootleg jerseys either online or from someone outside the stadium who set up a canopy.
Drop the stripes and go back to Maize pants on the road while we’re at it
And get rid of those dorky Woody Hayes glasses.
And stop losing, Dammit!
Seconded maize pants. I don't like the all-whites and we need a change anyway.
You keep repeating this like it's...
1. Actually going to happen.
2. A gimmick font.
WTF is a "gimmick font" anyway? Isn't that something where they truly mess with the number (see Hawaii below).
Outside of the #4 (and maybe the #2), there's barely a difference. But this isn't the first time I've seen you bring this up.
...it's really not that different, relax.
I like the current font more tbh
They all look better with the exception of the 2. If they could replace that with a CWood 2 then we're talking...
Yes, I am repeating it... for I want the momentum to build....No different than the people harping for Campbell...... I am a traditionalist when it comes to appearance.... Am glad you posted Woodson's jersey with the mesh... was my favorite by far and wish we would return to those with the perforated holes.
Matt Campbell isn't damn the near the same thing as Harbaugh. What a shitty analogy.
The numbers 8 of the 10 numbers are almost IDENTICAL.
And no one in football wears mesh jerseys. WTF are you talking about?
That's like me clamoring for leather helmets, I'd just sound like an idiot. Kind of like you every time you bring up the jerseys, lol.
If you were talking about the road white pants...I wouldn't say shit, you know why? BECAUSE THEY ARE SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT THAN THE OLD MAIZE PANTS.
If you were talking about helmet decals...I wouldn't say shit, you know why? BECAUSE THEY ARE ALSO SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT.
But you're bitching about numbers that are basically the exact same. Most people would never know the difference. It's not a completely different color, they don't have stickers all over them, and they're not the head football coach of another program.
I agree. I find the asymmetric numbers to a distracting annoyance.
Seems like we used the funky 4 in the 60’s, so I’m ok with it. Rick Volk agrees.
It's not a Harbaugh decision. The entire athletic department wears the same number font on their uniforms.
I just bought a #19 Sainstril jersey... Sunnuva beesting.
One of WD's many burner accounts!
Most of these were visible when they posted that freshman video. https://twitter.com/UMichFootball/status/1400165242689163266
Looks like they're still adding them throughout the day. Daylen Baldwin (85) wasn't there when I checked earlier.
Still missing from the new guys: Jordan Whittley, Alan Bowman, and Ike Iwunnah. Whittley wore #50 at Oregon State, Bowman wore #10 at TTU (Cristian Dixon took that this spring) and Iwunnah wore #90 in high school but Mike Morris has that now. So it may be those guys are still competing for their digits.
I wonder if Dax is negotiating for a bigger deal.
Per the twitters, with the deal players get around $10 per jersey, which is actually twice what NFL players get per jersey.
McBurrows is gonna be a dude at Corner in time. Ambry & JD level dude
...want about Darion Green-Warren, Jalen Perry and DJ Turner?
Jalen Perry has a long way to go from last year. I saw that much.
There is only one number 2.
Bono?
Crable.
DON’T HIT HIM OUT OF BOUNDS!
BLOCK THE OUTSIDE GUY ON THE FG!
Still too soon.
Yeah. This could have been the play that was the beginning of the end for us. If you need to pin it to one…
Shea Patterson?
Derek Jeter?
Agreed. Can't wait for August 8!
Justin Turner.
Poop.
Vincent Smith?
Oh hell yeah
Custom Cheeseman jersey or ban
how about this
How could you be any number other than #69?
99 is just as fun
With that name, 'spooning' is about as close as you are going to get, lol
Cant start a post and dont want to hi-jack a thread, but Cade Cuningham is at the Tigers game tonight. Carry on! PS: Miggy! :-)
To continue the hijack (you started it, it's your fault!), that was a really fun game to watch. Especially with Miggy's 5 RBI and legging it to third. The look he gave the ump who initally called him out was awesome.
That must be why Brad came back for one last year...Carlo Kemp was finally out of the way.
Can’t wait to get my Brad Robbins #91 jersey.
Is it just me or does Brad Hawkins seem like he's been on the team forever?
Not a complaint about the kid at all. Just feel like I've been hearing his name pop up on the roster for years.
Is it just me or does Brad Hawkins seem like he's been on the team forever?
He never redshirted as he played on special teams his freshman year, but he's coming back for a 5th year taking advantage of the Covid year of eligibility.
I'm actually curious what ever happened to Quinton Johnson who was supposed to be an athletic stud, but we haven't heard boo about him in his first two years. Hopefully the coordinator change will be good for him. I'm hoping some combination of Johnson, Moran, Moten, & Paige get some experience because assuming Dax leaves early two of them are our starting safeties in '22.
Letting a freshman take the #1?!?
