Fall Camp

Submitted by umbig11 on

Some well known intel to kick it off. Speight will start fall camp as QB1. His spot to lose. RB order will be Evans, Higdon, Isaac. Honestly, Higdon is much closer to RB1 than expected. He may take it away altogether with a strong camp. 5 Fr. in the two deep. Two OL getting a huge opportunity and WR is pretty obvious. 4 plus WR sets are in the works.

The Evans-Higdon combo is looking like it might be the best 1-2 punch we've had a RB since...?

Brandon Minor-Carlos Brown had its flashes, but otherwise I think the answer precedes my Michigan fandom (2006)

Is Jordan the for sure backup to Hudson?

Who is Robo backing up?

Any idea where Carl Myers stands?

if Crawford is the X who is his backup, and who is the starter at Y and his backup?

Evans-Higdon-Isaac will be among best in country if and only if the offensive line becomes what Harbaugh envisioned it could be when he got here.

It is definitely going to be better than last year IMO, maybe not right away, but they will make great strides as the season progresses.

Yeah sounds like Nico has surprised some with his readiness. If we are trying to go 4 wide as much as it is being talked about then I would expect Nico is going to get a good crack at PT.

It would not surprise me if Oliver Martin impressed in the slot in fall camp, possibly for punt return as well. I think that dude is super athletic, I am very glad we added him to the class.

This is will sound dickish, probably is.  I'll believe Higdon is ahead of Evans when he doesn't get tripped up against MSU when a first down wins it, or miss a wide open draw play that could have really turned the fortunes against OSU.  I don't blame Higdon for either - one he was just a freshman and the other the DL made an incredible play - but I do think a great player makes both.

I think Evans will be a great player.  I think he would have made both.  I think he's comfortably ahead of Higdon once the pads come on.
