Exactly How Prideful Was Dantonio and MSU?

You'd be wrong with that bet.  His numbers were decent throughout the game and came pretty much uniformly.  I think he had almost half of his yards at halftime.  He did have about 75 yards in the last two drives but that's still proportional.  He was like 20-26 with 240 yards 2 TD, 1 INT in the third quarter which is solid.

MSU had 7 turnovers.  7!!!!! That was the story of the game.  And as much as I want to dance on their grave, it was mostly of the unlucky variety as opposed to strip sacks because of a porous OL - of which there was only one.  Two WR lost fumbles after catches, one RB fumble lost and a muffed punt.  That's very unlucky.  Even if you're fumbling that often, to lose 5 is crazy.  Like early Michigan 2019 unlucky.  That won't last.

They outgained Rutgers by 100 yards despite ending 7 drives with TOs. So, I don't think it's as bad for them as it looks (but still probably as bad as everyone expected, just maybe not worse though). They are a bad team but not fail-to-cover-against-Rutgers-by-21 bad.

Those 7 turnovers don't include 2 turnovers on downs as well. Rocky was decent today. He missed a couple deep throws and had 2 miscommunications with WRs, one of which resulted in a pick. He fumbled on our own 1 yard line, but that was because the RB completely whiffed on a blitz pickup and the guy hit Rocky as he went to throw - not exactly Rocky's fault. There was another strip sack that MSU recovered where Rocky waited in the pocket too long and didn't have the ball secured, so I guess that evens out the fumble that wasn't his fault. I don't expect the rest of the team to have 3 fumbles and a muffed punt every game, but it's definitely concerning. The real problem is the O-line. They couldn't get a push at all against Rutgers which is pretty scary, and pass protection wasn't much better. Opposing fronts are only going to get better, so it's going to be a looooong year.

I'd go Andrew Maxwell, even though that was more recent.

All of his flaws included, I think I'd take Jeff Smoker before Maxwell or Lombardi from what I remember of them all. Lombardi really has nothing to offer, and Tucker did nothing to help him out at all. Keep calling those option routes Mel, your guys really have that concept nailed down.

Dantonio was everything MSU fans complain Harbaugh is.

Smug, condescending, holier than thou, curmudgeon who doesn't feel as though he needs to answer to anyone. Put Dantonio in a Michigan shirt and every MSU fan calls him the ultimate Michigan stereotype. He was their ass hole and they're ok with that because they don't want a good guy who coaches football well. They want someone to take on Michigan no matter his personality. Being an ass hole is a bonus.

In other news, FSU just go their doors blown off by Louisville. Come on Cooper!

"I'm very proud of our football team, and I'm very proud of the way our football team handled themselves after the game as well. You don't have to disrespekt people. If they want to make a mockery of it, so be it. Their time will come."

"They want to mock us. I'm telling them it's not over. They want to print that crap all over their locker room, it's not over and it'll never be over here. It's just starting".

It’s fun to listen to Blaha spin why it wasn’t such a bad loss.  7 more 1st downs and 100+ yds better total offense. “They shot themselves in the foot”.

It was Rutgers and a double digit loss.  Nothing positive about it.
