Evening game thread
There are a couple of interesting / big games going on this evening.
- Toledo just cut through OSU's defense like they were playing UConn. 7-7 5 minutes into the game, plus OSU's Henderson just went into the locker room.
- Staee goes to Washington
- #13 Miami tries to knock #24 Texas A&M out of the top 25
- Iowa tries for its 2nd TD of the season against Nevada
- Plus others

BTN graphic being extremely generous to Iowa by using the "14 points - most in a quarter this season." Doubled their season output so far.
Nevada is REALLY bad.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:23 PM ^
The right call.
If Washington scores a TD here this game might get out of hand for MSU. They don't have a ton of offensive firepower and that defense still can't stop anyone in the air.

Mel Tucker’s stupid ass look after that goal line stand has officially done it for me…I officially can’t stand the dipshit. He deserved that safety. I wish Michigan would blank them this year and shut his ass up.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
They are not good. Tucker is a $2M coach with a $9M tag. Good for him i guess…laughing all the way to the bank after we farted away that game last year.
That whole fan base about to get a big dose of reality this season.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
Lol I was thinking the same thing.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
SMU scores on the first play of the second quarter. September Maryland seems to have left us a few weeks early this year. 13-3 Mustangs.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
September Maryland not looking like September Maryland. SMU just threw a TD bomb. Leads Maryland 13-3.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
Here for the Sparty meltdown talk...carry on. :)
September 17th, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
Wow, and a meltdown it is.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:48 PM ^
They're TOAST this year
September 17th, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
Purple face is losing to Mississippi State. What good coaching can do.
Edit - this post didn't age well.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
I have a fever!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
Lesson: Don't run on MSU. Pass on MSU.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
Fucking put it in the end zone
September 17th, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Washington better not fuck this up again!
Edit: they didn't!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Haha Sparty
September 17th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
Say it ain't so, lil' bro!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
Don't pay your coach 10 million dollars after one good year.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:35 PM ^
He’s freaking 20-14 and gets a damn 10 million dollar contract. That’s so Sparty it’s not even funny!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
Totally agree. It’s pretty pathetic .
September 17th, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
Good year? Hell, his contract is literally because of 2 games.
September 18th, 2022 at 9:57 AM ^
In one of which, a terrible replay reversal was instrumental in Mel’s win.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
Eat shit Sparty.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
Don't look now but Maryland's offense looks bad against a semi-competent SMU defense and their defense still looks like trash. It might not be until October that this team plays anyone who can conceivably challenge them.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:32 PM ^
Sparty noooooo!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
MSU's pass D remains complete dog shit.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
FYI the 4K feed of the msu is without commercials
September 17th, 2022 at 8:33 PM ^
Huskies dragging lil bro. Looks like they're saving it all up for their superbowl this year.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:34 PM ^
Washington is making Sparty look like complete garbage. The secondary is awful leaving guys wiiiiide open.
Ya love to see it.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:34 PM ^
Narrator:
”But it turned out it was a safety. And then Washington marched down the field and scored. Again.”
September 17th, 2022 at 8:34 PM ^
They just showed a closeup of the 1970 Washington quarterback who helped turn the program around that season.
Fun Fact: Michigan traveled to Seattle that year. It was Bo’s second season. Michigan won 17-3.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:40 PM ^
Was a cool story though. Cherokee QB!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
It's weird seeing Pitt playing at WMU but I like that there are real home-and-homes between programs like these.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
Living in Kzoo I was tempted to drive 10 minutes and see if any tickets were available!
September 17th, 2022 at 8:36 PM ^
Half of the Big Ten looks like absolute trash today. But UM won big and thats ALL that matters. Love seeing purple face getting beat too. Only thing that would have topped today is if Notre Dame had lost and OSU loses to Toledo.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
PSU was pretty good against Auburn.
~
Also, Michigan's defense looks dominant. Biggest question mark.
obv have to do same against real opponents
September 17th, 2022 at 8:37 PM ^
Sparty is trash.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:40 PM ^
Exposed
September 17th, 2022 at 8:38 PM ^
MSU offense back to reality without Kenneth walker, who had a Barry sanders type of season.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:40 PM ^
MSU OL is getting abused.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:40 PM ^
Thorne just took a Clifford-like beating on that sack.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
Thorne was scared on that 3rd and 10. Wasn't looking downfield at all
September 17th, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^

September 17th, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
So, three cupcakes will make you look good (if you play them, not eat them). With the Kansas game over, Michigan has the most points through three games, though USC can equal if they also score 59 tonight against Fresno State (not a cupcake). I suppose if Miami scores 66 against A&M they tie as well.
On defense, two teams with three games played have given up less than Michigan's 17: Georgia (10 & Ole Miss 13). Iowa gave up 10 in 2 games, and is shutting out Nevada. James Madison gave up 14 in 2 games, but doesn't play today. Texas A&M also has 17 but is playing Miami.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:43 PM ^
Also worth mentioning, Minnesota has scored 149 and given up 23.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:45 PM ^
Unlike UM, Minnesota has played no one... 🤔
September 17th, 2022 at 9:09 PM ^
Also worth pointing out none of those points were scored against UM's first team defense. They still haven't given up a point when everyone has been out there.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:41 PM ^
That's a really nice defensive line call by Washington to get that sack.
Also, MSU looks absolutely shook right now on offense - without Walker they can't consistently move the ball on the ground behind their leaky line and with Reed out they lack anything resembling a consistent downfield threat.
September 17th, 2022 at 8:42 PM ^
I like what you’re doing so far, Washington. Can you please continue?
September 17th, 2022 at 8:44 PM ^
Thorne got lit up
