Enough Moping - There is Good Football Today

Submitted by xtramelanin on

Mates,

Enough of the grim post-mortem, what's done is done.   Bless those seniors and lets look forward to 2017.

As a bonus, there are some pretty good football games today.   With the points, they include

Underdog      Spread  Favorite

Louisville        +4           LSU

Kentucky         +4          Georgia Tech

Clemson          +2          ohio

Washington     +14        Bama

Pick 'em with the points.  Who do you think will win, as opposed to who do you want to win?

Happy New Year,

XM

you merely pick the team you think will cover the point] spread.   you probably already know this, but for instance you are basically picking louisvile to win outright, not just come within 4 pts of LSU.   you are picking GT to win by more than the 4 pts spread.   nothing wrong with predicting the score, that's fun, but for those who might not be familiar i post this explanation.

Last night was the last college football I'll watch this season. I love CFB, but it's not much fun after such a disappointing end to Michigan's year. I guess I need more time to mope.

Not watching the games tonight either. Giving up quality time with friends and family in order to watch teams I can't stand in some kind of hope to have them lose in games they are favored in is pretty much just reaching toward masochism in my opinion. No thanks. Eat, drink, be merry, and check the scores occasionally for informational purposes.

probably won't either. Frankly, I'm kind of footballed-out. I am looking forward to watching some UM hoops at Iowa tomorrow though, and will watch the Lions game because it's a meaningful Lions game and that is like a once per decade thing.

This bowl season was the perfect storm for me not to continue watching bowl games. I'll forever watch the regular season, even fly out for a game every season in Ann Arbor from California. But 40 mostly mediocre bowls, then bowl games on NYE? Nah. Let's make those bowl games playoff games instead. Who cares about 6-6 Blah State vs. 7-5 Bummer U? Blah State is in Ohio btw.

No moping here. I thought it was a great game to watch. I don't get emotionally attached to bowl games in the same way I do the regular season or what a playoff would do. They are high on corporate and low on soul most times so meh. I enjoyed the comeback.

Or have the suits finally managed to kill the excitement of the bowl season? Maybe part of it is not being on New Year's Day this year (f the NFL), but... And go Tigers, beat OSU.

is just too much. Bowl season lasts too long, games take too long. I was actively hoping that, win or lose, the game last night would not go to OT. I was/am out of shits to give this year. I don't even have motivation to root against OSU today. I'm just over it.

I feel like Clemson is going to put the spurs to OSU. That just feels like OSU is getting way too much love nationally. Also, LSU is going to surprise people against Louisville. That offensive line isn't going to be able to block LSU forever.

But it wasn't 1/90th the pain of the OSU game. Ultimately, it would have been a nice feather in the cap to take out FSU but in the long run, it'll be quickly forgotten, IMO.

This is what I'm worried about. I don't care one bit for the discussion about which conference is the best, but if OSU loses....everyone is going to say it's the SEC then ACC then Pac12 then Big Ten. I have a feeling USC is going to run over Penn State. Then the Big Ten will be looked down on big time.

I'm going to mope.... until the next kick-off. I'll take a heartbreaking (for them) osu loss and a Washington over Alabama upset today. That should suffice until spring ball rolls around.

I'm just going to continue to mope, especially within 24 hours of a painful loss, and evern more so when the football on is teams I disdain. I hope they all lose somehow.

Will never regret not watching Alabama or Ohio State or not having to listen to everyone slobber on Saban and Urban or have to hear another say, "Well, what does team X have to do to have a chance against Bama?" No thanks. How many references to Saban tying Bear Bryant are enough to do the trick? Like I said earlier, it's masochism? There is no good reason to put yourself through pain three days in a row by choice. Michigan last night, the playoffs tonight, and possibly the Lions game tomorrow. Happy fucking New Year! haha

think there are some legit questions about Drevno. The Smith pitch is seriously incompetence. I know it is just one play call but calling it as much as he did and when he did suggests to me that he may not be a long term answer at OC. To use a term from the Hoke years, our offense is a sludge fart most of the time.

who do you replace him with?   and remember, it's not just X's and O's, it's recruiting chops too.
