I read that on there as well. They’re up to “scandal update” #60 by now I’m sure. I’m convinced no one knows shit. If we did indeed hack their practices then give us the death penalty. As much as buckeye fans wanna rip on us, those fuks are completely unhinged. I wonder how many have called in sick or used vacation time so they don’t miss a single post.

I appreciate the sharing of your information. I just want to clarify it. Is your source saying that the expectation and scheduling of interviews by the NCAA yesterday was presumed by Michigan admin officials, president Ono and athletic director, to include all football support staff, coaches and coordinators.

But, in fact, Harbaugh and his primary recruiters left after practice on recruiting trips and therefore didn't participate in whatever interviews were conducted by NCAA officials? So, this is now being interpreted as Harbaugh blowing off the interviews because of his frustration with the situation and the handling of his contract status? So, he acted petulantly to express his disdain or is it that the interview scheduling wasn't clearly outlined to Michigan admin and the football program?

And the reporting on this is divided by whatever sourcing has better connection to certain program  or school officials?

Yes to your first paragraph question. Yes to your second question.

My interpretation is different - moreso that the NCAA has not told anyone at M what they know, so JH did not feel like he needed to talk to them until something is alleged. More of a "they can't ask if I was involved if I'm not there, and if they want to ask they can use their official process." Staff followed that lead. That is how it was described to me, but obviously I didn't talk to Jim and neither did my source so that is speculation and interpretation based on comments from those still in AA.

I did not get the impression the contract was relevant.

Yes to the last part. I do think the ones that correctly reported "no coach interviews happened" are aware of this but maybe don't want to report until recruiting visits are wrapped. Would guess Angelique and I have sources running in the same circles. She worded very deliberately.

The reason there's no evidence of JHs involvement is because the NCAA hasnt present any yet and JH declined to admit / share any yesterday.

Thank you. Very appreciative of your response. One more point of clarification. Is Harbaugh's response being interpreted by admin and those inside the football building as emotional or practical: such as, we have our own schedule, and until you challenge us with something credible and are prepared to disclose the full nature of the case being made, we have no reason to respond?

One response would tend to serve institutional desires, the other would be more legally tactical, knowing that personal responsibility for whatever transpires will mostly rise or fall when the full story is known. One response would also tend to signal the future the coach and his staff see for themselves no matter what happens next. There is no reason to legally respond to an investigation until you know what you are facing.

This one. Jim is loyal. To a fault, this time, if what I think is going on is true. Not going to expand in detail until I can confirm the new info someone else just sent me with my source. I'll say that it would mean the sign stealing is not the worst part of this, and that this is...wild...when viewed in totality. It supports what I said here on Jim not showing. Unfortunately.

OK. Thanks for your directness and observations. I was hoping we'd seen the last of new disclosures. I would rather like to concentrate on how this all came to light and who hired the outside investigative firm tasked with bringing this to NCAA attention. There is no other way this story becomes public.

That's the problem though isn't it? The administrators of the university don't look to be in a big hurry to protect Harbaugh. Harbaugh is the only one in the building,  or so it appears,  that sees this for what it is. This is nothing on the scale of the transgressions we've seen transpire within the last decade and the NCAA has done nothing to those preparators. Yet here we are with this "scandal" getting more attention than bags of cash being given out in McDonald's bags or coaches being caught outright on audio tape discussing money. Harbaugh refuses to give the NCAA the credibility it thinks it deserves and the administrators of the university should do the same.

No, they should not.  This is fan-brain speak.  Thankfully, both President Ono and Warde Manuel are doing their jobs, rather than being Harbaugh's cheerleader.

If no rules were broken, that will come out in time.  If rules were broken, there will be punishments, and people on the board who expect Michigan to ignore the NCAA are delusional.  That's never been how they've operated, and they're not going to start now.  The best way to ensure that the punishments fit the infractions -- if any -- is to cooperate.

If it's true that the football coaches blew off meetings with the NCAA, that is a serious dereliction of duty, not something to be cheered.  No matter what fans might think, the NCAA still has authority because Michigan is a voluntary member of the NCAA and grants them that authority.

Disagree.  If they had prior commitments to visit recruits, which is/was the case, then cancelling those commitments for (subsequently and last minute scheduled) NCAA interviews would be the serious dereliction of duty.

I have heard conflicting information on this by reading various things.

1. They were there to interview staff and not coaches.

2. They interviewed some coaches via Zoom.

3. Sam Webb reported that staff were interviewed but did not say anything about coaches were expected to be present.

4. Hole in his video mentioned the same thing as Webb.

5. Couple of insiders who posted here did not say what you said.

So, we don't know who is right including your comment.

I simply don’t believer this.  If true, Harbaugh would be fired immediately after not showing.  In addition, his entire staff was a no-show as well?  Everyone on the staff would commit career suicide rather than show up to a meeting?

Nonsense.

Edit:  the staff hit the rod to recruit like they always do after practice.

Don’t believe it for a second, however, if it happened Harbaugh would — and should be fired.

Well, expect Jim and his staff. They were supposed to show up but no showed everyone. They left Ono and Warde to handle it..without telling Ono and Warde they wouldn't be there.

Normally, the coaches go on the road recruiting during the bye week.   From what I understand, that was the case again this year.  That shouldn't have been a surprise and they almost certainly could have been interviewed by phone or laptop.

Taking all this at face value, if I were Harbaugh and the coaches, I would be absolutely furious that I would be forced to cancel my recruiting visits to meet in person over this stuff. Especially if the NCAA could have shown up the day before.

So it makes perfect sense that the coaches would vociferously insist on going on their trips rather than drop everything and stay in town to do this. And I would hope they would have let that be known to the UM administration. If they just fumed silently and left, there's no coming back from that. Not with the NCAA and not with Ono and Warde.

I feel like the truth must be somewhere in the middle. Or hopefully you're just completely misinformed.

Can you give any context to your "source"? If it's someone in the building who watched this first-hand, that's one thing. If it's the Assistant to the Provost of Academic Art and Toilet Cleaning, who heard it from the Associate Dean to the College of Make Believe, who overheard one of the secretaries in the Athletic Department, that's not really a source.

Anyone who is not in Schembechler Hall and directly saw the people go in for meetings, is probably going off hearsay and conjecture.

This site is self-admittedly not an insider site and doesn't give much in terms of AD intel. So if your source gives you info that makes it so you don't need to come here, that's not really inside information. That's what Rivals and 247 do. You also didn't answer the question about their proximity to the real story.

Outside of the Dave Brandon email fiasco, this site hasn't really broken news or traded in insider info.

I'm not trying to break anything. I did post on other sites. I posted again bc I just didn't want people sending emails until this is sorted out. Someone is wrong. I don't know what insider or source is right. They're all reporting different things. I just shared what I learned personally from someone I trust. Next time I won't, message received. And I answered the proximity question as best I could at this point. Sorry

I still don't understand what you mean by policing this thread, or making sure people don't email because this isn't sorted out.

What is the connection between these two things?

If people want to email to say "We like Harbaugh!" it will be ignored by Ono and Warde, or it won't be ignored by Ono and Warde. But it won't push them over the edge to be like, I wasn't gonna fire Harbaugh but dang these emails are so annoying because I'm mad at Harbaugh that now I am going to fire him!

If emails expressing support are the thing that tips Ono/Warde over, then Harbaugh was gone anyway.  Either on his own or at the request of the administration.

I don't think it matters one way or another.  They're public email addresses that are monitored  by an unpaid intern or very low level staffer.  They exist solely for people to express their displeasure at anything happening at the school or within the AD.

People who could move the needle have both of their phone numbers, office and cell.

After what happened the last time Harbaugh talked to the NCAA, I don't really blame him for taking a pass this time. Maybe could have given Ono and Warde a heads-up (or maybe he did).

BUT, when you talk to someone, and then they later claim you said something you didn't or misinterpret something you said and basically call you a liar publicly when you cannot respond...yeah, I can't really blame him for not wanting to talk to them again.

This. Exactly. People can have perceptions but at the end of the day it was not Warde who suspended himself. He didn't even explain himself over how he botched the Hockey Coach investigation. Now, Harbaugh has to put himself through another one these fishing expeditions. I don't blame Harbaugh. Glad he is sticking up for himself. If admin is upset, they know what to do. Stick up for Harbaugh for once.

Do it.  Send the emails!  Thousands of e-mails from UofM fans showing support will push them to act.  Pass the e-mails on the all of your UofM fan friends and family.

I'd say 99 times out of 100, neither Warde nor Ono are ever going to come close to reading our emails. They each have at least one executive assistant who's sole job it is over the coming weeks to handle all the emails that are coming through. Wouldn't be surprised if most of them end up in Spam/Trash almost immediately. If some high profile donor reaches out then yeah I'm sure the EA flags it and brings it to Warde's / Ono's attention, but donors like that probably have more of a direct line to Warde / Ono than just sending out an email.

I'm not saying don't do anything. There is strength in numbers, especially if they are receiving hundreds/thousands of emails every day, but the only language either of these guys are going to understand is money. What's going to get their attention immediately is an impact to their bottom line.

If you're going to reach out, reach out with your wallet. If you're a donor and you feel strongly enough about this, make sure you lay out that your annual donation can easily go elsewhere and you'll never donate them another cent if Harbaugh isn't extended.

You know, this is something that part of me feels as if I should not need to do because you would think the President and AD would immediately come to the defense of Jim Harbaugh, but I might hedge my bets and send one. I might. Maybe. Not that I am obsessed with Michigan athletics or anything, you understand.....ah, fuck, who am I kidding?

Done:

Dear President Ono and Athletic Director Manuel,

I am writing to express my support for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Football team. The team has made me proud as an alum and fan, not just by performing and winning at the highest level, but by building a team made up of student athletes of high character.

As our rivals try to cast aspersions in what appears to be a coordinated press strategy, the University cannot be silent. I understand the desire to wait to see the facts, as well as your inability to respond to the NCAA directly, but a public show of support for our coach and his amazing staff would be much appreciated.

Thank you and Go Blue,
